NFL team interested in Saban

Alabama Crimson Tide

It's hard to imagine Nick Saban leaving Alabama at this point in his career, but it may not stop at least one NFL owner from trying to pry him away from Tuscaloosa.

Saban has a history with the Cleveland Browns. And the Browns' new owner, Jimmy Haslam III, has a history with the SEC as an avid Tennessee booster.

"The word is it will be a hard push for Nick Saban," Steve Doerschuk of the Canton un wrote. "Makes sense. An SEC guy very familiar to Mr. Haslam. A former Kent State player with a feel for you.

"A guy who likes a challenge needing to prove he can handle one in the NFL, which he left with a bad taste after two years in Miami."

Haslam will spare no expense in trying to turn around the Browns. It will simply come down to whether Saban is legitimately interested in returning to the NFL. A third national title in four years may be enough for him to entertain the offer.

You want people to respect you...you should show a little. That was your problem from the beginning. Deleting old troll posts won't fix that.

I didn't delete any posts. I'm continuing the conversation. These coaching searches are fluid. I was just listing who are other options if Gruden is not hired.

Hater! :)
Cecil Hurt has covered Alabama football for the Tuscaloosa News since 1982.

Cecil is a pud.

Haslam could essentially kill two birds with one stone... get a head coach with potential to win (save a 3rd string steelers team), and get Saban out of Bama.

I like his style

That is one big ass striper

If we get Gruden, I'd be disappointed to see Saban leave. For one, I like to beat teams at their best, not when they're weakened. For another, well I'd like to see that midget get whats coming to him.

I haven't looked. Don't need to. Only one name on a list in the Gruden thread. That is Gruden. You know how it works. Glad to see you back. I like that avi.
