For all of you freaking out over Gruden "avoiding" talking about UT, don't you think it would be completely unprofessional to blatantly talk about a potential job local while you are working at your current job? If this thing has happened, which I believe it has, then the lid has been kept pretty tight on it. No way they are going to announce officially or unofficially until there is no conflict of interests. If nothing happens by next Monday I will probably start to lose faith in getting him but until then I am holding out hope that we will get our guy this time.

Thats not a bad thing. Maybe he don't want to make it to obvious hes coming here.

agree. He has nothing to gain from it and since he is currently at work for his (hopefully) soon to be former employer, it would be a bit tasteless to do so.

I love how everyone and their mom has a source. Not ragging but Hart is the only one that knows except maybe a few others. I'm actually laughing.

Btw got off the phone with a booster...

No one should care about anything Gruden says on MNF or how it relates to him considering the Tennessee job, his job is to talk....

I've had a lot of laughs today off this thread, especially seeing how the whole Dilfer replacing Gruden tonight thing took off. Man isn't the Vol Nation a little edgy and grasping for straws.

The Vol nation needs to relax this will happen. I think everyone got so caught up in things today you all missed something very important.

Today it was reported that Governor Haslam said he doesn't have a recommendation on Dooley's replacement and said how much the new coach gets paid shouldn't be up to the governor. So why is this important. Two reasons. First his family is being tied to this hire and secondly and more importantly he knows this is done and people are going to go crazy on the salary (remember not everyone in the state is a UT fan or even a football fan). He as a politician is having to distance himself from the money aspect of this hire, meaning an announcement is forthcoming.

He said it's possible to get around it, he didn't say that they didn't have to be followed.

Here's an thought that might be intersting to consider dealing with the procedure that has or doesn't have to be followed.

It's my thinking that universities have different procedures to follow but can deviate from them under certain circumstances I.e the hiring of DD.

This gruden situation is very unique when looking at who is brokering the deal. If Haslam is involved like we all assume he may very well be requiring procedure to be followed to protect himself from any perception he allowed anything to happen that wasn't completely above board.

Just a thought
