Official Jon Gruden Thread XI

Some people are in such denial they are going to be crushed when the next coach is announced and it IS NOT Gruden. I have no idea where people are hearing that they are still even talking to him but that's as far from the truth as it comes. The deal is DEAD.

Is this opinion, or do you have a "source"?

Afraid of personality clash, he would bully academics.

Academics need bullying, idiots are mad because the AD's 6 million a year are going to the AD and not them, they have no clue how much a program like Alabama or any other brings in compared to the amount they're suffocating the AD of.

source? We are big boys and girls. We can handle it.

So Mullen, who lost to all ranked opponents this year (remind you of someone?) is ok?

Agree with you on Strong. One word = UConn

But that's it . . . he's just OK. Compared to the other "realistic" names, however (pretty much all of whom I dislike), he's a more attractive candidate.

then either ignore or move on. This isn't an invite only thread like many are trying to make it out to be. It is for discussion

This should be at the top of every page.. Ppl need to stop being babies.. It's ok to disagree

He basically stated on here, then Erin basically said it on the air an hour later, I trust it.

I talked to him personally and trust this is what he was told. I am maybe questioning who told him this, as he has not shared this with me. I cannot see a situation where Erin Andrews and Eric Ainge definitively know that a binding agreement has been reached and Trent Dilfer has been signed to replace Gruden on MNF and neither of them want the career boost that breaking a story of that magnitude would bring.

Again, I am solid on Boro and not saying he is wrong in any way, but it doesn't add up to me even with Ainge tweeting what he did. I was looking forwards to his show today based on this one thing, and it was the same show as last week as far as his attitude toward Gruden coming.

Let me guess, a friend whose Uncle knows someone who has a dog just like Coach Gruden's Third cousin told you this?

Just for the record:

Louisville, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, UCLA & Stanford all have games this week. It is possible that Hart is waiting to do his interviews.

I just hope KPD installs diving boards on the Gay street bridge so when people jump at least it can be entertaining. My source who I will not reveal said the deal is DEAD. Several other media types are also reporting the deal is dead. Open your ears and minds and accept the fact Gruden isn't coming. It'll make things easier...wasting my breath I know.

Typical liberal, acadmic thinking. They just want to continue sucking oxygen out of the AD and then cannot understand why the golden goose is turning blue.

More money generated by football equals more money for everything. Why can't they get this simple concept?

SIAP, Mods delete if needed. I just wanted to get this started.

Make no mistake. I believe that Jon Gruden would make the biggest splash in terms of recruiting and publicity that the NCAA has ever seen. I think he would be able to be an X's and O's coach extraordinaire. I just don't think he is coming to UT. I hope I am wrong, but, with the exception of the 1998 year where I was continually amazed and constantly in a state of uncontrolled happiness (living in S. Florida had something to do with it), the Vols have ALWAYS managed to lose when they shouldn't more than they have won when they shouldn't. I am afraid that we will lose this one too.

There are a lot of good choices, I hope we can manage to land at least one. But, I am making this thread for those who plan on jumping off the ledge when Chucky (or the boosters) decide it isn't going to work.
