Funny, I was thinking something very similar.

Program's been searching for an identity and hasn't been the same since McCartney.

Yep, of course it is going to be tough to find one unless the financial backing of the program increases. Wilcox is rumored to be one of their top candidates, and he makes 30,000 more a year that Embree's 720,000 a year salary.

Assistant coach Trooper Taylor will continue working in his usual role while the university searches for its next football coach. Auburn's nine full-time assistants were told Sunday that they no longer were required to return to work, but Taylor will be in the office Monday and plans to continue with his normal duties.

The Tigers currently have 17 players committed to the 2013 class -- Georgia wideout Jaquay Williams recently defected ? and that group currently is ranked No. 10 by Rivals.com. Many of those big-name prospects are closest with Taylor. That group includes Reuben Foster, the nation's top-rated inside linebacker, and Dee Liner, the nation's No. 2 strong-side defensive end.

Taylor also has created strong relationships with wideout Earnest Robinson, defensive end Carl Lawson and quarterback Jeremy Johnson. Maintaining those lines of communication should give Auburn a better chance to keep its strong recruiting class in tact.

I mean its your word against mine, a program like KY would be stupid not to hire him.
It's not just me. I've heard some serious talk that the SEC ADs have a gentleman's agreement to not hire him.

It is possible that this would get broken, or just not true at all. But I believe that to be the case enough that I will be surprised to see him in the SEC.

interesting link at CBS - i took a lot of heat a few weeks ago in another thread when I said we didnt have a 1st round pick on the team - apparently CBS is starting to agree - its sortable by position so pretty interesting - it is in another thread but i know some of you rarely frequent the football forum - NFL Draft - 2013 NFL Draft Prospects - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

The WR's have 1st round potential. In fact, this will interesting to see where they will be after the combines. I think both will go in 1st. Bray's stock will move one way or the other based off the Wonderlick score. If it is low, he could drop to 5-7. Bray's attitude always rubbed me wrong, though. Dallas could sneak into 1st, but either way, I think some team will be getting a solid kid with a long career ahead of them.

The most interesting is McCullers with a 3rd round grade. Is that high enough to make a kid leave early? Especially under the new CBA, when you're playing for the 2nd contract anyway. I hope for our sake he stays, but if I were family, I'd tell him to go.

I think mccullers has 1st round potential and next year would likely be 1st NT taken if he stays so financially i would tell him to stay - once you get projected in the 3rd though that is hard to passup

im not sure if the combine will help or hurt bray, CP and Jhunt - once more people evaluate Jhunt i think he could drop further due to poor routes and drops - but he has real speed so if he pulls a 4.3 something at the combine then all bets are off - basically think the same thing on CP - Bray can throw the deep ball with accuracy which you can't find every day but still has some real holes in his game if you are talking about an NFL grade

so while i think all 3 are talented and intriguing there are just too many ?marks for me to put them at first round talents at this point - the WR's though def have the athleticism and height that make GM's draft kids higher than they know they should so we shall see

I don't think Dthomas projects well at T - I think his future is at G - so that is why I think 2-3 is much more likely than 1st

I think Mingo will struggle in the NFL unless he can convert to a LB of some sort. I am surprised they have Eric Reid up that high, not a great year and Safeties is the last position to worry about.

I would probably go with CP over Hunter, although I would probably be in the minority on that. Hunter has more upside though.

I think its a toss up with cp and jh.

The Vikings got a huge get in harvin and we all know aout aj green.

I think hunter is the safer pick but cp has higher ceiling
