2. Academic/financial issues between the AD and the administration have been addressed.

4. There are some big boosters who still don't think Gruden is a possibility (found this out on Thanksgiving Day). One is a big spender, but not among those most discussed frequently on this board.


Here is what I think:
1. Dave Hart needs credit for the hire.
2. Even if things were signed, we have always been on Gruden's timetable.
3. If a deal is not signed by now, I doubt that it is Gruden.
4. I still think it is done and we will hear soon.
5. Most of the stuff linked from the AD including the coaching list, is bunk.

its coming soon guys, the media will soon do a 180 on the coaching search. Gruden no later than Friday as early as tomorrow we shall see

Only if Jon takes a coaching job somewhere else. If he stays in the broadcasting booth, it's more like having a crush on the hot married sister and having to settle for the also hot single one.

So I read in the cliff notes that a UT media personnel has now been granted full disclosure within the athletic department... What do you think of the possibility of this being true and if it is do you think they will start talking about it tomorrow?

Also I had read on hear a long time ago that ESPN had asked Gruden to announce it on MNF... This seems very unlikely...

And my final question is. A few people had said they thought it would get announced tomorrow. What's the likelihood of this happening?

They are 4 years apart makes no sense to me. You name a coach in waiting when your hc is 49. Plus jay is doing well with tbe bengals. He pkays it right abd he will be in line for an nfl hc job.

Good question, but I just looked it up. Edsall was hired on Jan 2, 2010....Dooley was hired Jan 15, 2010.

In glad you asked because I actually had to google that answer and matching these dates further comforts my confidence that particular friend.

He'll be fine, they signed a good class this past year. What really hurt them is that they had 4 QBs go down with injuries and had to finish the season with a LB playing the QB spot. He has an Elite 11 QB committed for next year, so they'll be in better shape. He also has Stefon Diggs who is flat out nasty....CP like, just smaller, so more like the Black Mamba at Oregon.

If he did indeed wanted jay named coach in waiting at Miami then my guess is he was planning to be there a short time and then turn it over to jay.

I dont believe Jay has the cache of Jon.

I'd have no problem having Jon come 3-4 years and stock piling talent and handing it off to his brother who is a top NFL OC. That being said Jay doesn't need Jon to get a job.

I have an acquaintance whose cousin's roomate works at a hotel in Knoxville.

No other than Sean Payton checked in this morning. He arrived in a pimped out Escalade.

In all seriousness, why not Sean Payton. He is available.


I Copid and pasted this from another thread. I laughed because that other guy saying today we would have a special guest with an escalade. lol Maybe payton can get our defense to play with BOUNTIES!!

I found that Edsall was hired away from Uconn after the 2011 fiesta bowl.
