Wow, I feel for the Seniors. What a roller coaster ride the last 4 to 5 years. Time marches on.

Dooley played to bring attention to coaches. Seems like he coached to prove the system was good. In the isn't it wasn't so good. Seemed to coach to keep players from taking over the game.

People are making the Chaney Gatorade bath thing a big deal for no reason imo.

The players knew it was likely his last game at UT. They also knew today was likely his first & last time he would actually coach a game as the HC.

The players would've likely done the same if Dooley was out there knowing it was his last game here.

If we miss on a top existing coach Gruden, Mora, Stoops, Strong, then I am all for going for a top NFL assistant in Greg Roman or Mike McCoy.

Some will disagree, and I totally understand that, but I just think after the top teir, we are better off going down to NFL Assistants and look for a rising star.

Just a thought on Sumlin.

Chizik won with cam.

Sumlin may turn out to be an awesome coach in the SEC. But when you have a playmaking game-changing stud at QB you can win a lot of games

Manziel shouldn't be in the same breath as newton. Newton is the best college football player I've ever seen. Literally won a nc by himself

I understand cam won an NC almost by himself. Manziel beat bama almost by himself. In his first season playing college football. Not saying Manziel is as good but my point about sumlin is the same.

Kinda similar to the urbs. Won big with Alex smith and Tebow (won one yr with leake/Tebow). After Tebow left though he was borderline .500. Now this yr he has Braxton miller. (And he's in the big 10)And he is undefeated again.

I agree with sojme of the things said in this conversation but the biggest change is the pace and time required for coaching college football. I believe it is unrealistic for most successful head coaches to maintain that pace for more than 7 to 10 years. Beyond that, they need to take a year off or make a change. That is the model of the future.

In college you have to recruit/develop those player. They aren't givin to you *ala peyton manning to john fox*
