ok bud, like you believing him is any different than me not believing him. he has no proof, no sources. nothing. you look like an idiot for being so desperate. I dont like when people come to VN and post nonsense, it makes it much harder for the others to actually collect valuable information from this website. people with 4 post shouldnt be allowed to start a thread, especially a rumor. BTW take your happy thanksgiving with you.

Does anyone else that posts on here?

Sorry for not responding,

I am very close to the Tennessee Vols football program. My family, I don't need to get certain information I can assure you that around thanksgiving people are talking and it's sssshed around the table...

Howeve I am not in Kxoxville now. In fact i'm not even in the state. I'm up north right now with family and my source is not a media, or a football admin but someone that is very high up in tenn football.

This source and I are going to the Grey Cup in canada this week and what I have been hearing (not being told directly) is that

Jon Gruden told the Vols that he will let them know over Thanksgiving weekend.....

I can also tell you that I have oveheard coversations that there has been ZERO communication with any other coach and if this does not happen i'm hearing ''we have a long road'', and on and on ''then we will have to really get working''.... this is a 1 and done situation that UT is going all in for Gruden.

I can also tell you that i've heard ''what a great thing for Jon that if we announce it soon then he has a national stage(mnf) to sell UT football''

I dont have any idea if Gruden will be Tennessees next coach or not, but to say we have a long road is total bs. We have a lot of good coaches interested in this job(unlike last time) and the wheels are in motion to talk with those coaches, thats a fact. I hope you guys are right and Gruden is the next coach.

OP's posts read like those of someone who used to post a lot on game day, blasted out of his mind. Said his dad (I think it was) was a biggie in the AD or football and was telling him hush-hush stuff which he then would promptly post here. He said he worked at a gym or something in Nashville, but HEY, he was also a script writer for Major Comedy Shows.

I think it was stopit28, but I might well be wrong. Crazy drunken posters tend to blur in my mind.

But same writing style, albeit less boozy.

Anyway, thanks OP, whoever you are, for coming here to share this astounding, never-before-heard info. I for one would have been mortified to have been caught unawares by CJG being announced.

Palaradylikearockstar (sp?) - admitted to his enjoyment of leading on members with bogus stories that are hard to prove. Just recently got caught and left.

Sabanocchio (sp?) - Another attention guy that took his posts and contacts waaaay to far.

If you use to post under a different name then why not post under that name now?

This one is way to easy IMO.

i don't believe him and will voice it. regardless of what you or two other people think.

Cool story

Bro.

what did palardylikearockstar do?

Posted some pics claiming to be taken at the game in the booth with the coaches. Another poster proved they were from a few years back and proved it with a link to a website. At that point he admitted to leading everyone on without any actual info. I think he's a student that's all. These posts could easily be him making a comeback.

If he did it once he will do it again. He enjoyed it too much.

The poster deflecting on the Grey Cup is a perfect example of trying to confuse posters. He keeps bringing it up for a reason. Even posted a link like he's there.

I'm not saying its them for sure or he's lieing as a fact but his wording, deflecting, using a new screen name is too much to think he's being truthful.

Gruden will not be committed long term, he will jump ship just like Lane Kiffin did, yes Kiffin would be good for Bray, but I think Bray will leave for the NFL. We need a coach with an up-side that will be committed for years (yes the Fulmer) years are over being committed that long

I've seen you say this in multiple threads. My question is why? Gruden could take just about any job he wanted in the NFL or NCAA. I doubt he takes the job here, but if he did then I think that would be a pretty good indicator that he really wants to coach at UT.

I don't think his situation can be compared to Kiffin's at all. Kiffin didn't have the luxury of picking anywhere he'd want to coach and he didn't have a cozy $5,000,000/year job to hold him over until the job he wanted most opened.

Simply put, if Gruden takes the job it's because he really wants to coach here. If he doesn't take the job it's because he doesn't want to coach here. He has the luxury of not having to take a job he doesn't want.

I dont agree. He wants to live here and work close to home. Reason---if the wife aint happy noone is happy
Still he's got demands. The decision I bet is Tennessee's.

Happy Thanksgiving Vols,

Very close confirmation involving the UT athletic department and i'm following this very closely....

Was told that Gruden offer came officially Wednesday.....

Also told by a Vol supporter that Gruden and Vols have been talking for weeks and Gruden will decide in the next 2-3 days (by weekened)

Time is running out...

Hey guys,

Approx 6et I was out for dinner with some family here. I've been busy getting to Toronto today. Staying in a small town called Mississauga really nice place next to Lake Ontario. Anyways, many of the people at dinner after were going to the Vanier Cup which is a big college game tonight in canada as its played on the weekend of the the Grey Cup.... watch it its going to be big! Calgary vs Toronto (yes TO is playing at home)

Anyways I was asking about the UT / Gruden situation quite a bit and was told clearly that nothing has happened since the offer was made. I get the sense that UT and Gruden won't be communicating anymore until a decision is made. I get the feeling that they spoke often.

I did get a little late night tidbit and that a group of Vols got together in the afternoon today, met with a bunch of admin privately and they are planning on meeting again on Sunday.

I get the feeling that Gruden won't be keeping the Vols hanging for much longer.

We will know real soon Vols fans!
