When all this breaks the outside world, officially...I think it's important to maintain respect and lead those that are disrespectful to people that hve been accurate in the past on many many topics in VN.

They are really good sources of information and I for one appreciate any and everything they have brought to VN...and hopefully will in the future.

If any morons out there start flaming...think before you speak and start trashing the only people you'll ever know that have the scoop!!

Just sayin...respect!!

Agreed.

As Thanksgiving day approaches, there's not been a ton of news on the coaching search front. Athletics director Dave Hart and members of his executive staff have worked most of the week with the football program to make sure everything is in control this week for gameday with Jim Chaney in charge and on the recruiting front, where the staff will hit the road on Sunday.
Hart has also been working behind the scenes trying to get things done with the University side so that when he visits with a coaching candidate he can assure them that compromises are being made to level the playing field that he spoke of on Sunday at his press conference.

Obviously, getting the gift or the news of the money back to the athletics department on Tuesday was big, but it was just one of several steps that Hart is needing to get done to assure the coaching candidates they would be coming into a real
winning situation. But Hart earned some credibility with the financial win on Tuesday and Tuesday night Hart met what we would call people of influence to update them on things.

There's no question that many see Tennessee as a good job with a lot of challenges. Hart is trying to change the later part of that perception before he goes interviewing.

Speaking of interviewing, that process could start as early as next week. With Miami's season over on Saturday, Al Golden would be available for interview next week.

Athletic directors typically give permission for their coaches to do interviews after the regular season and before bowl games which is why Hart mentioned the month of December as a busy and critical month.

Here's the schedule of some others we believe to be potential candidates:

Charlie Strong - Louisville's last game is next Thursday, Nov. 29th
Jimbo Fisher - FSU's last game is Dec. 1st in the ACC title game
Gary Patterson - TCU's last game is Dec. 1st
Jim Mora - UCLA's last game is Dec. 1st in the Pac-12 title game
James Franklin - Vandy's last game is Saturday, if Tennessee wanted to talk to him and we don't know how
much they would or wouldn't.
Bob Stoops - Oklahoma's last game is Dec. 1st
Mike Gundy - Oklahoma State's last game is Dec. 1st.
Jon Gruden - available any time to interview

So while Hart could do some work next week. It's really the first week of December when he could do his heavy lifting if he is truly going to wait and do interviews after the regular season as most AD's do.

Getting done early in December is important for recruiting purposes. Coaches can be on the road starting Sunday till December 15th. Official visitors can visit campus until midnight on December 16th.

Speaking of Stoops, several people seem to think that he would legitimately explore leaving Norman (put me in
the believe it to see it category). But Stoops has an appreciation for Tennessee and gave some vibes early on in the last two searches that he might have some interest in the Vols.

Here is one interesting note on Stoops. You are always looking for ties with candidates. Stoops has been at
Oklahoma since 1999. From 1999-2006, Rick Hart, Dave Hart's son, was on staff at Oklahoma working in the athletic department moving up to a senior athletic director in 2006 when he left to take the AD's job at UTC

QUOTE=RockyTopSC;7770767]I am trying to catch up. I am back in Cleveland. I have a dinner with one family tomorrow and another on Friday. The Friday one may be interesting. I will be with a couple of people that give a load more than me and one gives a ton. I will see what he says but I already know part of it. " I think we need Fulmer back". He never wanted him gone. Btw I ran some info by buro off line. The way he answered gave me even more hope. It was nothing big just the way he responded. Stay strong.

We don't need fulmer back he lost his ability to recruit towards the end of his career. The lack of talent we have is partly his fault. We need to move.on and get behind the new coach[/QUOTE]

He wasn't saying we need Fulmer back,,, he was saying his family would say that....

by the way some of you guys just don't know who you are talking to

Dang it Jake. You're thousands of miles away and got sources! I'm 20 minutes from Neyland and I don't know a single person at the university! I'm 37 and lived here all my life! You lucky dog.
