Based on my current knowledge, I think that I can safely infer that Gruden will NOT be coming to UT, much the same way that based on fact, i will NOT win the lottery this week.

Actually I think more people are "claiming" it is a FACT he is coming. UT has NEVER paid top money for a head coach. Those questioning UT hiring a guy who would demand to be the highest paid in college football have alot to support their opinion. Those "claiming" it's a done deal have nothing but hope. Gruden would be a great hire. I will believe UT would spend the cash when Hart announces Gruden has been hired and not until.

I should have iterated that those people are driven me crazy too. I had just read a thread where 7 people said that he IS NOT COMING...so I guess I jumped on the negative people a little hard, but you are right it goes both ways. My point is, don't state an opinion as fact.

No local sports beat writer affiliated with UT is going to go on record and announce Gruden to UT. If some of you all are waiting for this to happen before making up your mind, well you won't have much longer to wait. UTAD in conjuction with ESPN will be the ones to make it official.

The man has the job that most NFL coaches dream about getting when they retire from coaching.

"Easy" jobs aren't all their cracked up to be. I took a nice, 8 hour per day, "safe", low stress staff job for a few years. It was the most miserable time of my life. Limited challenges. Limited rewards (and not the financial kind). Now I am back to managing people and over a good sized, fairly complex plant... dealing with stress that causes some people to have health problems... and couldn't be happier.

Gruden has been out of the fight long enough to miss it. I will be surprised if he isn't coaching next year either in the NFL or college.

I stand by my statement that JG will NOT be coming to UT. Is that a 100% fact......absolutely not.

My opinion is taking several FACTS into consideration that would make it highily unlikely that he would ditch his current gig making 4+mil/year + endorsments to come and coach a downtrodden UT football team.

The recruiting work alone that he would have to put in would more than double the hours he has to currently work every week.

If i'm wrong, i'll gladly apologize to this board. I've ever told a few co workers that I would eat a handfull of dirt if Gruden ends up at UT. I think that the chance that he doesn't end up here, far outweighs the chance that he does.

Your own statements contradict each other in the first and last paragraphs. The first statement cannot be true because you don't know, you are sharing only your opinion.
