Its an interesting story for sure. Going back a lot farther than most realize.

I've been lurking and felt the need to add a little bit of a warning for some of you who have connections at local schools and have been looking there for clues to what will happen.

FERPA (Family Education Right to Privacy Act) is applicable to both public and private schools. Mentioning that the son or daughter of a friend saw Mr. or Mrs. Coach at a school is a fair and legal thing to do, but providing information that points to a release of privileged information (transfer paperwork, transcripts, etc) by the administrative staff or faculty could very quickly put that school under investigation if the wrong person gets pissed off. If you do get that information, find a way to convey the information without leaving a trail of breadcrumbs for the Department of Education to follow or your friend or friend of a friend may be fired, lose their teaching or administrative license, and potentially be sued for damages.

Plus, finding out coaching info by stalking the kids is just plain creepy.

There seems to have been a recent influx of new posters with opinions such as:
-"Gruden ain't coming, he's a NFL guy only."

-if "cheney" beats Kentucky, is he a legitimate HC candidate?

-Has anyone considered Spurrier for the new coach.

This is all coming from people with a post count of 5-17, so we are either getting trolled by some other fanbase, or the Dooley firing has really brought out the crazies.

Feel much safer right here.

Hrm? I'm not trying to cause trouble or dampen enthusiasm, if that's what you're implying. I saw earlier (in this or another thread, can't find it now) where someone mentioned that a certain local high school may have received a transcript for a potential coach's son. The person who posted that information left a trail that could have had serious financial implications for the school involved.

Just trying to help, sorry if anyone took it as trying to be problematic.
