Arky AD probably did the right thing to publicly throw a ton of money at the biggest name out there. Even if Gruden turns it down he can maintain that he did what he could with a serious offer and then get down to the business of finding a solid coach. I'll give their AD credit for not being scared to make a move.

I heard the same, but who knows. Fwiw, I never have called bs on you guys. As a businessman, I just thought there were too many factors involved and didn't think it could happen. Can't believe some obstacles have been overcome and haven't seen university and athletic dept support for the program like this in 20 years.

6 million can cover his base salary. This too me is one of the biggest moves we could make. It only signals a huge hire. The money that gets reciprocated and allocated later could be due to increased revenues due to winning, and new TV contracts. Imagine if Cheek is not here in 3 years? It's guaranteed money that we needed to show that we are dead serious. Everyone needs to back off that we can't push for a big hire.
