Official Jon Gruden Thread IX

It was a defensive problem. Nick proved it statistically. :salute:

Defense was our biggest issue but not the only one. Defense, Tyler,Special Teams (Dooley) Palardy FG kicking in particular), dropped passes, especially drops by Hunter and his constant spaghetti arming and doing everything possible to not get hit. Plus lack of discipline and obvious lack of respect for Dooley and Coach's. Wasnt just one problem, although defense was the biggest issue.

im sure this has been discussed somewhere in the nearly 100,000 posts in this endless thread but if we do get gruden and he does in fact bring tee martin back to us what kind, if any, impact will that have on recrutis ramsey and hatcher? werent they both brought in by martin and both shunned tennessee because of the state the program was in under dooley? just asking since they are two extremely pivotal recruits in my amateur eyes....

and yes i know this is not the recruiting forum but it is the all things gruden thread and this only happens if we get him so i think it fits here....

I don't know about anybody else but I don't see Gruden leaving for the NFL if he comes.. There has been a number of NFL jobs open and it only takes one.. I think Jon wants to be here and unless just a ridiculous offer comes along I can definitely see the 10 year rule apply to this situation

Maybe it's because I want him here but none of the NFL jobs that are open seem like they would attract him.

I'm telling you guys:

If Bray and Co. stay (including Chaney) we have a real shot in the east next year with Chucky and Morris (Zook) at the helm.

Not likely they come back. Gruden wont put up with the BS Dooley let go on. Next years schedule is brutal I want hopefully Peterman to take his lumps and get us in position to do something in 2014. Someone said CP doesnt have the grades to come back. Bray and Hunter arent NFL ready but probably leave anyway.

He definitely is. I had the "priviledge" of driving him to the airport after the Chick-Fil-A bowl luncheon. He had the personality of a wet mop.

The only time I was ever in the same room with him was at the Atlanta Hilton before the Chic-Fil-A and the wet mop is a nice analogy. I just wondered how in the world was he able to recruit as well as he was doing at the time. My wife even commented on what an odd personality he had. Kind of reminded me of being around Michael Myers.

I would think it greatly enhance our chances. Ramsey is looking to stay closer to home. UT could sell him on early playing time, pro coach and rejuvenating the program. The only reason he wasn't considering us was because he probably didn't think we could win with Dooley. Gruden changes that.

My guess is that UT would have a great shot to get Lawson, Bell, Green, North etc.

Been rocking the Oddball name in Online Games and on forums since I re-watched the movie about 10 years ago.

Non-Beleievers need to "Knock it off with them negative waves!"

One of my favorite movies also - Eastwood, Sutherland, Rickles, Savalas, what's not to like? Good Avatar.

Am I the only one that thinks Worley is ready to be a really good QB?

If Gruden to UT does happen, whatever the date turns out to be when he is announced from then on shall be known as "Gruden Day." Gruden Day is to be celebrated along the likes of Thanksgiving, July 4th, and even Christmas. Hams and turkeys will be on sale at the supermarket. Sweet potatoes recommended, along with some dressing. There will even be Gruden Day decorations sold at your local Walmart and Big Lots: Power T's and Chucky dolls to decorate your lawn.

Anything is now possible with the right assistants. But still, it will take even CJG time to turn it around. It won't be done overnight. Glad he's going to be the one doing it.

That got past me... thanks... but I bet his seat is getting warm

Yes and it's going to get warmer. Even considering how well Kiffin recruits, I don't think he can catch Oregon's juggernaut. Stanford is strong, UCLA is making a resurgence and even Oregon State is playing good football now.

So excited!!

No to the walmart, do not want to feed the piggies.

From Knucklheads repertoire of greeting...

HEY HEY HEY

what's happening?! What have I missed? Don't make me read the CN

Next year running game will only be stronger and Worley at least looks like he can manage a possession passing game. The D is still the big question for 2013. But there is some red shirt talent that might come on.
