The OGs have said that Majors spoke with Gruden about the UT job.

I was at Ye' Ole Steakhouse last night and the owner told me Majors brought Gruden in about 6 months ago. TIFWIW

This is in response to somebody earlier reporting Gruden officially declined Arkansas per this article.:Arkansas is the first program to legitimately pursue former NFL head coach Jon Gruden.

"Jim Harris, THV 11's affiliate sports reporter, says the university has offered Jon Gruden the head coach position for the Razorbacks football team," THV 11 in Little Rock reported.

"Harris doesn't expect Gruden to take the offer, putting the odds at 'one in 10 or even one in 20.' He said Gruden may have shown a slight bit of interest and that 'Arkansas is swinging for the fences and making an offer.'"

Arkansas has to prove to its fanbase it's doing whatever it can to land the top candidates. Those candidates aren't likely to land in Fayetteville, but the team is at least making an effort.
