Official Jon Gruden Thread VIII

I honestly have no idea other than a few things I've heard. If you are right, then that would make me think twice about hiring Cut, though I'd still hire him over someone like Golden, who might be better than Dooley was, but not much.

I can't disagree with that at all. At least cut has some orange in his blood.

Despite of what everyone thinks of Dooley.. Gruden is not coming here

Is there a copy and paste of this somewhere? This is the 937th time in 80,000 posts that this exact phrase has been stated. At least be original next time.

Anyhooo I am off to bed and will hopefully wake up to some good news.

So it appears that a lot of people on here want to blame Hart for allowing to coach this long. Will those people also claim Hart had nothing to do with a Gruden hire?

No, just the opposite. Hart pretty much has to get Gruden to have any chance of surviving.

After the way this all has gone down, he better have an ace in the hole.

No, they're saying that their opinion of Hart will be largely based on this next hire to come.

If he let Dooley coach this long when everyone can see that he's a lame duck, only to get a coach that can be seen by some as a lateral move, then it will be pretty hard to say that this silence was worth it.

The fan base is suffering and he very well knows it. Hopefully it's for a very good reason.

The point is that if the Gruden rumors are false, then Hart is incompetent for allowing this to happen tonight. If the Gruden rumors are true, then Hart will share the glory of hiring him; it would be a career hire for Hart.

I knew it was true about Thunder and the million for running through the T but I didn't understand the rest of it either. :birgits_giggle:

what didn't you understand? I was listening to a police scanner at work about 15 years ago and picked up on a conversation between Thunder and another money guy. Thunder was on I75 headed toward knoxville to have the journalist that wrote the article about him giving the 1 million to run through the T fired. I think it was John Adams that wrote the article. Well, Thunder wasn't successful in getting him fired because to this day, John Adams still works at the sentinel.

Anybody that doesn't think we'll never be relevant again is a Fulmerite and most likely thinks that Fulmer is the only coach that could ever win here or is the best coach we could realistically ever have.

I have never heard that story before but Thanks!

I vaguely recall hearing this story, as you posted it. I'm not vouching for the validity, but this isn't the first time I've heard this.

There's nothing wrong with Thunder doing that, but if I were him, I wouldn't want it in the newspaper either.

What's the point? I'm really not trying to be a smart a*# but I don't see the point in the story.

Edit: nevermind

I have a friend in the AD. He knows nothing about the next coach, but said that Cheek will be gone by December...if not, Hart will be.

Continue to aim low in life. That way you will never fail. You will never be successful either. You will be nothing.

Why blast him for his opinion. Oh that's right, he stated it as a fact. Blast away. Noone knows that there will be a Gruden hire, or there won't be one. NO one

I am so sick of this defeatist attitude. "We will never win again. We can never hire JG. No coach will want to come here." Just STFU and GTFO.
