I just hope Gruden doesn't ask his friend Dooley how the job is because I'm sure he has plenty of horror stories for him.

At some point...Coach Cut was gonna test his skills as a HC, IMO

In some systems...the revolution speed of the revolving door varies.

When Gruden shows up in Knoxville...I bet out assistant coaching door slows waaaaay down relative to the last 4 years.

At least for a few years.

I also think you underestimate how Bama feeds Saban's ego.

I'm not saying Gruden, Saban, et al, don't have an ego...no question they do. My point is that the nature of the football beast, be it college or pros, provides more attention than most individuals will ever need...excepting, of course, the Terrell Owens of the world.

what up folks! i am stunned by the no announcement of gruden to arkansas. what a troll he is. in other news, any new gruden to UT believers?

...and he's turned down NFL offers for the last few years.

Just sayin....

Gruden got burned bad in Tampa when the owners decided to drain the Bucs to purchase Manchester United. Them not renewing key players contracts or giving Gruden the Free agents he needed to be competative led to the only blimish on his career. I truley believe that is why he has not returned to coaching in the NFL.

Maybe it was loyalty, maybe it was the caliber of assistants Fulmer had, maybe they just weren't ambitious, I dunno...but aside from Garner & Cut, I don't recall a lot of attrition.

I'm just saying, it's not a "constant" with every staff, however, with Gruden's it most certainly will be.

Bama is almost a model for the type of situation that you are describing. They are the most successful college program since Saban took the job and they do have staff turnover. The difference is that, just like their football roster, quality candidates are ready to take the job.

Winning cures all ills...

Yes, exactly. I'd be willing to bet that when Saban bolts Tuscaloosa...their revolving door begins to spin a little faster with a jolt of instability.

And like OB and I were debating....it'll slow down and not become so constant as stability regains itself.
