Come on jackson, you promised not to post that photo of me and granny....... dang you cant trust anyone on these boards anymore

I thought you were discovered to be a mexican named jesus who plans to have volnation drywalled by lunchtime today?

Yeah, we NEVER know who we are gonna hire before posting a job...:lolabove:

I work for the Gub and I approve this message...

As an executive recruiter for the past 11 years, I work with large firms that have to comply as a government contractor (ie they are a large law firm, accounting firm doing work for the gov.) And there are times that we have someone targeted and then at the end need to handle all the compliance issues..posting position.. compiling forms that have voluntarily asked for candidates ethnicity etc..So during 2 week period after Dooley is fired University will need to take care of all state employment compliance hoops which they will have plenty of time to do before announcing Gruden

scared of UT getting a good coach? Absolutely

as for the dollars being thrown around, you won't be the first gator to not understand how things like that work. Starting to wonder if UF even has a business school

They have a great business school...it includes the number one alligator distribution management program in the nation (LSU is a close second)

I agree. Suffice it to say though, if we have a guy in mind...he's usually what we get...

Of course you think Fulmer was a good coach... Spurrier owned him most of the time.....

I bet you loved Peyton and hated Tee...right?

Not at all. I think UF fans who always yap about Peyton never beating Florida are stupid.

It didn't change the fact the guy was a phenomenal player.

Fulmer was a good coach. Kiffin was a good coach, etc.......

Florida will still be Florida.

LSU is still LSU now, but I'm sure that Bama doesn't regret paying Saban.

We're not saying that UF will instantly be a doormat if we get Gruden, but it will give UT a chance to win against UF on a regular basis. After several years of futility, it would be worth every penny to the AD.

As for the money aspect, Bama pulled in $32 million in profit ($52 million in revenue) the first year they had Saban. Gruden would be every bit the rockstar that he was, and merchandise and ticket sales would more than make up for the increase in coach's pay. I know that Saban had won the NCAA title, where Gruden has not, but Gruden can flash that Superbowl ring. That is something that would be unique to UT's coach that could be used to establish a competitive advantage in recruiting and marketing the program. UT hasn't had a unique advantage like that anytime in the recent past. Exceptional individuals demand exceptional pay, because they can give you something some unique advantage over the competition.

Boro, You posted in one of the early threads that Thankgiving was going to be good ( or something to that effect)

Were you speaking of the Dooley leaving announcement on the 26th or something else ?

I think it's been well established that Dooley would "officially" be gone after the UK game, so yes...I'd say that's why.

Also (completely unrelated to Gramps post)...not that I take *anything* that Basillio says as 100% truth but, if Gruden is asking for a 10 year/$50 million offer, the only question I ask is what color ink do you prefer?
