I don't understand how you can have a problem with paying coaches "Saban money." As you said, it's market driven.

Right...........my point is market driven doesn't make it right.

You've got teachers educating children working just as hard making 40K. You know what i mean........it is what it is, it's just crazy where we put our priorities sometimes, that's all I'm saying.

if they can get 4-5 million, good for them.

I thought the Gruden number that was being discussed was something like 6 years - 38 million...????

Boro what say you?

I cant say. Im confident in my info, and it has been cross referenced with the info others have recieved...and has been filtered by logic before posting.

Lets just say Im at 99.9%.:)

If you can't tell us then you are obviously FOS. Troll.

Easy for me to say regardless of circumstance. We pay coaches, specifically football coaches, way too much money for what they do.

I don't care how much you are winning or losing. Paying someone 4-5 million dollars to coach a sport is overboard. Like I said, it's probably market-driven, but it's just sad we've gotten to that point in society where we don't care what we pay our coach if he is winning, but get frustrated when we find out our boss makes 100K and think "he/she is overpaid, not worth it." etc

I agree with you whole-heartedly. It is absolutely market-driven and it is absurd what we pay our entertainers. Capitalism. Love it or hate it, it is what it is.

This I can appreciate, but we are overvaluing what we pay people to coach football imo. I guess to some extent is market driven, but it's just flat out of control.

We should never be paying coaches the money they are being paid.

I agree with this part of the statement, but as you said "market driven" .... I think the same thing however when I price a new car... I always walk away say ... "that was just crazy money" but wind up paying it if I want the ride

I heard there were 3 contract options put in front of him. All around $5million per, but with differences in term and buyout.

10 years was one of the options.

"for what they do?"

You know they do an awful damn lot, right? Look how much Derek Dooley has aged in 3 years. Coaching football in the SEC is more stressful than being president of the United States of America.
