In 8 years as a head coach in college, he has a 75-26
record (.743). At Louisville and Arkansas, not bama, LSU, FL or Texas. Before this season started that was better than Saban, Miles, Spurrier and Mack Brown. In the same division of the SEC that produced
the national champion each year.
He is the only coach in history to lead 2 different teams to their first BCS bowl game. Arkansas to Sugar and Louisville to Orange. In the 8 years, had 3 teams ranked in top 6 and 5 teams in top 15...at Louisville and Arkansas.
AT ARKANSAS:
In 2008 at Arkansas, he went 5-7 (2-6 in the conference) and set 8 school records. Beat LSU and AU in his first year playing 16 true freshman.
In 2009, improved to 8-5 (3-5) and set 26 school records. First in SEC in passing (3,624) and scoring. Won bowl game.
In 2010, improved to 10-3 (6-2) and set 48 school records. Lost to #1, #5 and #8. First in passing (3,869 yards) and second in scoring in SEC.
In 2011, improved to 11-2 (6-2) and set 24 school records. Only 2 losses to #1 and #2. Led SEC passing and scoring offense and top 15 nationally. Scored on 52% of offensive possessions. Tyler Wilson passed
for 3638 yards. Won the Cotton bowl.
*In these 4 years, Ark lost to the national champions 4 times and the runner up once. The team
improved every year. *Arkansas had 2 questionable fumbles called against AU in 2010. One would have been a TD and the other was returned for a TD by AU that sealed the game.
*In 09, 10 and 11, Arkansas led the conference in passing offense and scoring and never finished
outside third in total offense. Finished in the top 10 or 20 in the nation in almost all offensive categories.
*Arkansas was ranked in the top 10 for 10 straight BCS rankings and the top 25 for 32 consecutive weeks.
*Most school wins and SEC wins in school history for 2 consecutive years.
* In 2011, final ranking #5 and beat 4 top 15 teams that season. In 2010, ranked 12.
AT LOUISVILLE
In 2003, he went 9-4 (5-3). Scored 30 points in 11 of 13 games and 40 points 5 times.
In2004, improved to 11-1 (8-0), conference champs, #6 AP final ranking. Led nation in scoring and total offense. Scored 30 in 11 games, 40 in 9
games, 50 in 7 games, 60 in 2 games and 70 in one game. Brohm was freshman of year and Lefours was conference player of year.
In 2005, went 9-3 (5-2) and final AP ranking of 15. Finished 3rd in scoring and 9th in total offense in nation. Scored 30 in 11 games, 40 in 8 games,
50 in 4 games and 60 in 3 games. Brohm was player of year in conference.
In 2006, improved to 12-1 (6-1), conference champs and #6 final AP ranking. 4th scoring and 2nd total offense in nation. Scored 30 in 8 games, 40 in 6 games and 50 in 2games. Brohm passed for 3049 and all conference.
Took Louisville to 1st BCS bowl, first Big East title, most wins in a season and highest ranking in school
history. Had 4 wins over top 10 teams in 2006. Won 2 conference titles and played for a third.
