You can't bulid around juco guys point blank. They can be complimentary pieces though. There is a reason they are at a Junior College in the first place.

Who said to build your team on juco guys.

but the teams who get 3-5 top juco recruits usually are in the top 10

Alabama does it perfect. Auburn won a national title by doing that. LSU does it as wel

Auburn won a national title building with Juco Guys.

And I trust Mel Kiper, Todd Mcshay, and the Bengals on their take on Dre Kirkpatrick way more than yours.

I really hope you bookmark this post. Mel Kiper is an anaylst that I would love to match wits with about DBs. Anyday of the week I would sit down with him. Dre Kirkpatrick was a real reach and he'll be a bust. I've been saying this for years.

What jucos make a real impact at LSU?

Auburn looks like shxt now so I don't know why you're bringing them up.

Bama gets a lot of HS talent. I made a point about Saban not getting a lot of good HS CBs. You're arguing my facts like you are a closet Bama fan. He depended on Jucos at CB and it cost him when one transferred on him. That CB depth hasn't been there all year. Texas A&M and LSU attacked it. We didn't even though we were built to wreck Bama's defense. If Vinnie Sunseri is covering someone then Saban has a depth/talent problem at CB.

Like I said teams play a bit different for different teams. Florida ran the ball on LSU second half but then they play down versus garbage competition. Ace Sanders would light Bama up and that defense would cause major problems for Bama. So you saying not playing Florida and South Carolina equals playing better offenses is BS. Our offense didn't light Bama up due to coaching(gameplan was terrible) and players not making plays. That's the most overrated defense I've seen. They were saying this defense was better than last year's unit. Laughable......

What are you talking about dude?! Ace Sanders a nice player and all but he has like 300 yards on the season. Alabama's shut down far better than him. Whether we had a good gameplan or not, they held us under 300 yards of offense. It's ironic how our players "werent making plays" against bama but they were against usc and georgia. Get outta here with that coach speak. We are one of the best two or three offenses in the conference and they shut us down like no other team this year. I never said they were better than last years bc they probably arent but you cant name me a better defense.

Florida by far. They locked LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia and UT down. Mettenberger had his best game of the year versus Bama. The LSU offense went for over 300 yards versus Bama but I guess their offense is better than ours huh???? Florida made LSU look horrible on offense. Then they held aTm to around 50 yards for the entire second half. What's Bama resume looking like?

Haha one of the most respected scouts in all of football and you could match wits with him. You better be coaching dbs for the 49ers or else you sound so dumb

McShay and Kiper have been wrong a lot. Look at what they called Andy Dalton compared to what they called Blaine Gabbert.

QB scouting is totally different. So many different variable.

Either way when a guy gets taken in the 1st round. There is no way he is "garbage"

Palardy's quote regarding when Dooley addressed the team this morning.

"It's tough for anyone to go through
that. The amount of criticism," Palardy said. "The amount of
clutter that's going on right now. It's hard to compartmentalize and
keep it to yourself and not really tell anyone or talk about it. This
whole team is a family. The coaching staff, the support staff, my
teammates, we are a big family. That's what families do. You have
problems and you talk about it. Coach Dooley has done a real good job
of it. The way he addressed it to us today … it takes a lot. It
takes a real man to do that. He has a lot of passion for this team.
He loves this team. And we love our coach. He's our coach. We are
going to play for him. I think he has done a very good job of
handling it and talking to us about it."

I've always looked at Dre more as a Saftey than a CB. He gets exposed in coverage but is a good solid tackler.

I just dont get the Patterson talk. Who has he beaten? The best win on his resume is Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. He has a horrible record against the big boys like Oklahoma, Texas, Ok St etc.

If he were such a top coach one of the top schools that have been open the past few years would have thrown the money at him. Hes another mediocre coach that feeds off of a pathetic schedule and loses against real teams.

This is very true!

The "best man" doesn't always win the war, but in 2010 Tennessee needed the "best man" to turn the program around. Dooley was the right guy at the time and he put integrity back into the University of Tennessee in 2010. Was he the right guy to win in the SEC, probably not. Dooley has improved the program tremendously and he has faced extreme amounts of adversity. I am proud to have Dooley as the coach. Hopefully the next coach can bring a winning culture and an honorable one.

This is understated.

Based on what? He is in the most fertile area for recruiting there is and hes still not blowing any doors off recruiting nor by winning anything.

Still waiting on someone to tell me what he has done thats so special other than one good season and a win over Wisconsin.

I couldn't find his record against the top 25. His record as a head coach is 115-34 which is good for a .784 wp forth among active coaches. He is 83-17 since 2005 he's only had one season with less than 11 wins in that time frame it'll be two when this season is finished. He's put 31 players in the pro's in his 11 full years at TCU. He's had the number one ranked defense in 2000, 2002, 2008, 2009, 2010. I know they just got to a major conference but looks like the guy can coach.

Just go to their football site and look at who they have played since 2000. Nobody.

And the good teams he did play, he lost to. I didnt see any wins against anyone of note other than the Rose Bowl win and a win over Boise.
