Why is it so hard to believe Hart has already fired Dooley and told him he can finish out the season instead of an in season public firing? Which imo would be more embarrassing to Dooley. Not the first or last time its been done.

I'm just telling you guys what he said. I want Gruden. Golf game has gone to pot since he said it. Hopefully he is just still being told not to say anything

I don't think anything you say justifies a response so this will be my last to you. True, it's a rumors and speculation forum. When you turned it into a throw everything you can at the wall and see what sticks is where you went wrong. Maybe when you develop your new name you will keep this in mind.

You would, however, make a good politician. Maybe you should explore that route. Best of luck to you and no hard feelings.

Pretty sure everyone believes this to be the case. I think the bickering comes from when this occurred. The original Grudens said after MSU and I contend it was probably after Troy if not Mizzou.

He knows his fate, I am 100% certain of that now. The only reasons to not announce all involve future coaches being considered. If there is no upside to announcing, they will not, nor should they. If there was going to be a "search" the announcement would have been made already.

If Gruden is still the main target, and I fully believe he is, then the moment Dooley is announced a microphone goes into his face at every opportunity forcing him to comment. Right now his comment is "Tennessee has a coach".

Conversations this morning coupled with new info on here make me almost as confident as I have ever been about our chances of landing Gruden. I am in a business that involves negotiation, things come together sometimes after everyone thinks they are done and over. That's where we are. Some thought since the agreement was basically outlined verbally that the first document drafted would be agreed to, and its not that easy. My peer that is involved in that end should know that as long as he has been doing this. He has no new info, but again he wouldn't until there is a need to formalize everything.

Dooley hasn't earned an evaluation at the end of the season. Who involved in the decision making process needs to evaluate anything?? I think the last 2 years have been more than enough evidence of Derek Dooley's coaching abilities. While I believe a coaching search began weeks ago, by chance I and many others are wrong and Dave Hart is still wanting to give Dooley another year, as a fan base we should run him the hell out of Knoxville and back to Tuscaloosa where he belongs.

I don't believe he lied...why would he?

I think he knows he's gone, the writing is on the mirror. However, It would make sense for Hart to keep his evaluation and investigation forward to himself until everything is lined up properly....whatever those variables are.

Monday day morning Derick Dooley was arrested for impersonating a SEC coach . More news as it becomes available.
