Official Jon Gruden Thread VI

I must be gullible. I always want to give people the benefit of the doubt. Not wired that way. I would never knowingly mislead someone.

Seems like he's just trying to gain attention and making quick impulsive bets so he can gain credibility.

I'm not one to shoot down someone's ego, but I can't help but call someone out on BS either...when it's super obvious.

I tell ya, I'm not usually a big business kind of guy, but if Gruden (THE Gruden) happens for us, it's like I told my fiancee: I will only buy Pilot gas. Hell, we might even grocery shop there, if possible. Anderson media (if true)...we'll buy from them whatever is possible.

I don't know OCI but he's solid, he's been hearing the same things I have obviously. He isn't a troll because everything he (old and etc) have matched up exactly with what I just heard on a phone call. Don't run him off, you might regret it (if you want solid info)

I'm sure your right.

Here's my stance: I'm no longer sold that Gruden is coming. I have no sources, no claim to any sort of inside information. However, coming in this thread today and seeing how many people, whom I deem reliable, are staying true to things they've said weeks ago about Gruden being the next HC of the Vols has given me another ray of hope. I want JG, I think he is the answer in one way or another, because I'd sure as heck take Andy Reid if Gruden went to Philly too (although I'm seeing smatterings of media reporting that that isn't gonna happen)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This

Is it just me, or can it be possible that babyavi is just behind? OldVol said he heard the Peyton (for the record, it amazes how many people still use an "a") news like 5 weeks ago.

I believe from what I have read..... no personal knowledge, that Gruden will coach somewhere next year. Either here or in the NFL.... I think we have a chance based on the very issue you bring up.....jmo

Not based on a contract that can be broken

It is also interesting to know that the NFL head coach contracts must be approved by the NFL. So I guess it is possible that they could intervene for that reason even if it is not a clause in his current contract.
