Hi All,

Devil's Advocate here...using Jake's login.

I heard Dave Hart has his eyes on Mal Moore's position in Tuscaloosa when he retires.

If you were him, what would you do during your time in Knoxville?

I'll be honest, I'm just going to be relieved Dooley is gone, no matter who the new hire is. But I can't think of another potential hire who would be HUGE like Gruden. There's not one name I've seen floated, and I've seen just about all of them, who would be as big as Gruden. If you disagree, please float a name. I would love to be wrong about this.

So which ones are "smoke" babyavi? I don't consider the bolded ones as "HUGE". Am I being unrealistic?

golden, strong, tubs, patterson, mullen, fisher, some NFL coords]

Patterson would have it made in the shade in Arkansas, however.

That's why I have him penciled in there.

I also have Petrino going to UK and Malzahn to Auburn.

What are we left with? Scraps.

Don't shoot me here. But I think Gruden or whoever the next coach is should keep Chaney for at least the first year if Bray and Co. stay.

If so Chaney would have survived 2 coaching changes . I'm not sure if anyone has done that before.

Not on the earlier list imo.... Saban is grand slam, Gruden is, maybe one or two more.... Hugh makes e think they are still hard and fast after GRUDEN,,, jmo

I don't think you would want to mess around with our offense too much year one.

Gruden or anyone else.

Pete Carrol I don't see coming, Peterson would be a huge hire, but I don't think he has any interest leaving Boise. We may wait til the NFL season is over and go that route. Have no idea what Hart would do....

We all want a home run hire but with where we are as a fanbase whoever the new coach will experience am overwhelming acceptance from us imo


If the powers at be really feel that candidate A is more sexy but candidate B is the better fit then now is the time that a choice for B would still be widely accepted.

As long as people don't have this JG or bust mentality this hire will be widely accepted regardless who it ends up being IMO.

The longer the wait, the more I'm convinced of who it is. No reason for not blowing him out right freaking now, or is there??????

I've said before if Gruden is ungettable, then get Tressel. Can coach and recruit and never cheated just lied protecting his players.
