Read in the FF forum that the decision had been made, Dooley officially gone, Chaney the interim, announcement Monday. Since then, I've finally caught up in here, but haven't seen anyone saying the same thing.

Does anyone have any corroborating information or information that disagrees?

Golden would be a great hire as would Strong. Tubbs and Fisher wouldnt excite me at all.Especially Tubbs. He peaked then crashed at the SEC level.

Not saying we should try to low ball Gruden, but in all seriousness, a $5.5mill offer would be significant for even an NFL job. I'm all for getting Gruden, but let's face it, he's in the ESPN booth for a reason. He got fired for underachieving for a number of seasons as HC, at Tampa.

He's a big risk even if we could get him for $4mill/yr. The initial offer that was mentioned on here sounds about right. 5.3-5.5.
