I cannot speak for LWS because I do not know the gentleman. I don't know who his sources are. But I do know mine and fully trust them.

Just connecting the dots with all the info that has collected and a healthy knowledge of politics and media workings. I dont speak on subjects that i dont have confidence in. I'll never claim inside sources.

I dont claim to be an insider and dont want to be. There are a lot of folks that have info from different sources. With that being said after todays conversations with friends I believe that Charlie Strong will be the next head coach at TN. Not to pour water on the Gruden thing but it is just a lot easier coaching in the NFL dealing with players. The move today by the BOT is a sign in the right direction, but this is a damn mess. In the end I do believe that Gruden is an NFL guy and there are some good openings coming up soon.


I'm hopeful but not optimistic.

He knows his associates arent going to dig into his contract to much when they smell a story thats going to excite a few fan bases, so he wont confirm or deny anything and continue to make NFL calls and let his associates in the media do the rest for him. Its brilliant, really. He does little to no work, and it completes the task he has it meant for.

You do have to admit this on the surface seems a little far-fetched. You believe what you believe - I'm good with that. I do however, think people believe things because they really want them to be true. Not saying you do, but others here for sure.

Just throwing this out there, maybe Larry keeps saying 5% just because he was told to quiet some of the rumors out there and feed that information to the talk radio media (Ainge, ect). Larry has never said he won't be coming, just there is a slim chance so he's correct either way.

Wife and I are leaving now for Knoxville. See some of you all there. I'll be in Z13 trying to start a Gruden chant.

I fail to understand how differences between the Chancellor (Cheek) and AD Hart has any impact on Gruden's decision.

Can't see Cheek having any say in who we hire or fire, and regarding academics...if our admission requirements are no higher than Florida's (what Cheek is trying to elevate our standards to?), how is that a critical problem?

I don't agree with Cheek's attempt to make it harder for athletes to get into the school, but if it's not a major hindrance for the Gators, why would it be for us?

I feel like the guys in this thread are not out for a pat on the back. The reason I enjoy this thread so much is because they are trying to give us accurate info. That's difficult with a situation that changes. I feel bad for making a assumption about LWS. The person I spoke with last night is a close friend of mine. I had no idea he knew LWS.

If you get a wild hair and decide to start "the wave", be sure you have help. One person doing the wave in a stadium the size of Neyland can be a sad experience, even if the stadium is 1/2 full.

By his own post he says because he believes that Gruden is an NFL guy.... I think he is correct with that fact. If that is the reason, then that is his idea and not based on information recieved
