Ainge has been talking bout wanting Trooper tailer back here involved somehow, am I mistaking or is he not in trouble right now for violating some NCAA rules and if he is which don't get me wrong he done good when he was here the first time but why would we want him back here just to get us in trouble again?

The NCAA doesn't pull guys off the recruiting trail for just minor reasons. Towel waving chest bump guy isn't coming back to Tennessee!

Hopefully today's BOT meeting today will accomplish a lot. Even if it aint Gruden, the HC position needs to be a lot more comfortable to attract a big fish.

Sorry Grudenites for not being on in the past week. I've been very busy! :)

Hart can't keep it off message boards and you think he can keep it from Dooley? :eek:k:

The message boards have some info, but not all the info...Which leads us back to the question in question, Dooley probably doesn't know EVERYTHING.

(No offense)

If he is fired before the game, and we beat Kentucky to finish 5-7, would the players carry him off the field?

Excellent question..

He wouldn't deserve to be carried off the field, but he might be just outta respect..But not sure how many players still respect him enough to do that after his most recent antics.

No havent heard that, just guessing. If I were AD I would pursue Gruden and take temperatures of other big names but assuming I am going back to a college coach we ACTUALLY would have a chance to hire my choices would be

1. Patterson
2. Strong
3. Petrino
4. Malzahn

If I am throwing sensibility out the window my top 4 would be

1. Gruden
2. Lovie
3. Pete Carroll
4. Sean Payton

I'd be just fine with 1 & 2.

Saw an earlier quote from Tony B so thought I would post this.... found it very interesting

"Really sad turnstile #’s from last week. A Source in the Athletic Department tells me that tickets scanned last week represent less than 50% of capacity in Neyland Stadium. Can you imagine that? I’m talking 49,500 fans in Neyland Stadium for homecoming. How is that possible? No wonder Derek Dooley is coaching out the string."

Hyams said 80 something thousand bought, 61,000 scanned at the game. But he could have been talking about homecoming 1972

Thread diversion: List the defining moments of Derek Dooley's tenure.

I'll begin -

  • 13 players on the field at LSU
  • Where's Rommel
  • Losing to Kentucky with a WR at QB
  • Kicking a FG against Alabama down 44-10.

* Giving up over 700 yards offense to a sunbelt team
* starting 0-5 in consecutive years in the SEC.

We will just have to disagree....When Gruden is hired I am sure DD will be blindsided.
