Don't get all the love for Strong. I agree he is an up and coming coach, but he's not there yet. Yes, his record this year is 9 - 0, but he's only beaten two teams with a winning record. N.Car. 39-34, and Cinn. 34-31. He just hasn't proven himself yet, at least to my way of thinking. He'd be at best a consolation hire.

He's beaten who was put in front of him, can't do more than that. He's in the Big East, using big east players to beat Big East teams. So it stands to reason if he had SEC players in the SEC he could beat SEC teams. Plus he's had great success as a DC at Florida shutting down SEC offenses. He's a helluva recruiter too and I believe he would eliminate some of our natural disadvantages when it comes to recruiting in places like Memphis. If he hired a good OC, which I have no reason to believe he couldn't, I have no doubt he could be highly successful at UT.
