Ainge is now being used as damage control. If Gruden deal is blown, many people in Ad will have egg on their face for holding it up two weeks ago. Got to make it look like it was a long shot from the beginning.

I like all of them except #5.

He is better than what we have, would be able to assemble a TN feel staff around him and would give us some stability over the next 5 years.

I think we would win a lot more than you think under him.

Jay Graham, Tee Martin, Chavis, Hobby, Steele.

We could put together a great staff.

He is on there only if the semi realistic top choices turn us down.

Do you not realize that Cutcliffe and Chavis hate eachother?

The coaches Ainge was talking about this morning depressing. David cutcliff, Jeff tedford,Randy Shannon. Still Beleving for Gruden.

Well yeah, if we're going by the "if it's better than Dooley, it must be good" argument, there are roughly a thousand coaches we can hire. By that logic, I say we go after Ron Zook!

Logic holds that IF Gruden is coming to Tennessee the deal has already been reached predicated upon the University relinquishing control of the program to him. I think OV and others are spot on that everything rides upon the outcome of Friday's BOT meeting. Gruden does not NEED the job. He will be coming because he WANTS to coach at UT. That would certainly explain the lack of information coming from either party at a time when you would think the AD would be doing everything in its power to achieve some sort of damage control as the program has imploded. Either that or the program is so FUBAR that nothing is going to help.

Spot on. Well done

He has probably been tapped as the person to create a diversion. With 2 1/2 weeks to go until Dooley is "let go", somebody has to slow down the Gruden train. Why not Ainge? Let him jump on a new person everyday, and then people will calm down and not know who it will be. Then BAM! Gruden is announced and the fans start buying tickets and clothes!

At least I can only dream and think, right?

Both he and his wife are judges and the collection resides in a temp control warehouse in Greeneville, TN

Just to clarify, they are qualified to be judges of Ferrari car shows, etc.; they aren't judges in the legal sense. Judges who preside in court couldn't afford that collection. :) I was at an event with them a month or so ago. Very nice folks.
