Official Jon Gruden Thread V

I think its odd that the main arguement Missouri was added to SEC rather than West Virginia was their lower academic standards. So where does that place us? Are we a 1 team SEC now that we are higher than the other 13? Or are we about to get shipped to the Big 10? Lol Tongue in "Cheek"! Pun was incidental somewhat.

After three straight years of starting 0-5 in the SEC. Losing to Kentucky. Giving up more yards than any team in UT history. No one should CALM down. In fact UT fans have been way TOO calm for a long time now while these morons have run a once proud program into the ground.

Ainge makes it sound like there are hurdles which Gruden can't overcome on his end to coach in college. That doesn't make any sense. Surely Gruden and his lawyers weren't so shortsighted that they signed contracts with ESPN or sponsors that wouldn't allow him to get out if he wanted to coach again.

I think Aingey, unbeknownst to him, is being used as a smoke deploying agent.

Yeah, I wish he would just say what these "hurdles" are. If it really is Corona or ESPN then Gruden needs a new agent

I heard Doug yesterday, and I think he was spot on about a lot of stuff...
from the timeline of Joe Johnson retiring, then Doug Dickey, from 1999-2002,that when
everything strted to fall apart, not to mention the numerous chancellors that have been in and out...No Leadership at the top coupled with the Hammy era, equals disaster

TIFWIW....I was just told by one if my guys, a letterman, that Cheeks and Hart are both targeted....and have been since summer. Cheeks first, Hart sometime thereafter. This goes far beyond football.

This is the second time he's told me this. Cheek is obviously most pressing. Hart wouldnt happen until after all the coaching stuff is settled. There is a large faction of lettermen and boosters that want them both gone.

Again...TIFWIW.

If it happens, good riddance.

Nothing will sway you guys. I admire that. I really do. You're really committed to this Gruden thing and it doesn't matter what anyone officially says.

If people ever sat down with Ainge and held a conversation with him they would soon realize he is not a person you would trust with guarded information.

Thanks for this B.

I agree with you. It seems there is a large push to "shift" this thing to the way it should be. Like having a vertebrae out of alignment, you have to pop it back in before the rest of the body can adjust.

The meeting Friday about shifting the AD

The talk about Cheek, being on the academic side of things with no clue about how to maintain a healthy balance for the AD

The talk about Hart, with his Alabama ties, and possibly bringing in Sal, "maybe" well intentioned but not a smart move, or maybe intentioned to hold down what could have been a great year...dunno...

There seems to be a good push to get all this run by the "homegrown" so to speak...and dare I say it???...maybe an AD run by Fulmer?? or some other TN faithful...

Could be wrong...just musing...but thanks anyway Boro, keep it coming...Im not done yet...wont be till we see him him at the podium or see the official decline.

Big Phil for AD.......lol

you laugh now - but with all the rumblings and issues at hand...I bet he still has the support of some pretty robust donors and everyone knows of his love for the university.

Not saying it happens but I don't doubt the push for it either.

Ainge's job right now is to drive his ratings up. That is all he is concerned about is people listening to his show. What a better way to do it, than to go back and forth.
