I have been cautiously optimistic the entire time. Tried to not get too up or down about the possibilities of Gruden. I haven't really seen any reason to waver. I really think even if we don't get Gruden, we will still be able to make a splash hire this time around. I just feel like the bad days can only last for so long, and it is high time something good happens around here.

Sorry to hear that. I definitely agree about Hart. The biggest advantage I see to his silence though is it keeps us from the public "rejection" like last time. You know what I mean? Not saying we aren't getting Gruden, just talking in general.

I really want to believe Gruden would come here. I think it would instantly put UT football back in contention. But the more I think about it and more importantly the longer this drags out, the realist in me takes over. Wanting something really bad and it happening are two different things.

I'm encouraged by the economics of the situation. UT is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars each game that attendance slips. Apathy is beginning to take over. It's a dangerous tipping point and I really hope someone sees te seriousness of the reality that is the state of the program right now.

I read the cliff notes thread and didn't find much one way or the other in terms of new news. Sorry you're down bro. Try eating ice cream. Works for my nephew. Of course, he's 4 years old, but still... ice cream is the shiz.

Sorry man.. I don't agree... That's what's wrong with us now. We get a little down and we fire good coaches. Dooley will be a good coach. If not for us,then for someone else. He probably will get fired. Then what??? Joker phillips??? I've been a vol fan since I took my first breath,and it's a shame what we've come to. Dooley is trying to fix a mess he didn't create. Our offense is great.Give him a couple years and our defense will be too. I'm not trying to anger anyone. I just don't think now is the time to fire Dooley. So let's agree to disagree. We are both Big Orange Fans man... God bless you.

Slayer, I think the offense if prolific despite the coaching. They are good now, but they do not play to their potential, and that is on the coaches. I just think that there are 7 or 8 coaches in the SEC that could take UT's roster and beat Dooley with it. Time for a change.

I respect your opinion man an dont apologize for voicing it. It's a crossroad.... Like the election tomorrow. We want everything fixed but have different ways of getting there. But we both have one goal returning to the top. I just feel there's too much smoke not only here but on any other board (even other sec teams) for this not to have legs. GRUDEN '13
