You are right. Battle's teams never looked like this. He suffered from lack of athletes but they were usually prepared.

Dooley has no freakin' clue how to prepare a team or coach up his players..He is totally clueless on EVERYTHING.

We have some talented players on this team and with Dooley as their coach, their talents are going to waste...Under Gruden, these players would thrive and look so much better and play their arses off for him.:twocents:

Thinking that is smoke as well.

The press is NOT saying it, but seems they are hinting Dooley gone .... I think it is evident, just not announced jmho

That may be Harts way of buying time for reasons unknown to public... but well known to Gruden, MNF, ESPN, and the AD etc.

off topic, but....I can def see C. Patterson going into draft....he's just one of those electrifying players that NFL scouts love. Could you imagine him running that quick screen set w Peyton in Denver?

As I stated many times during the game,
he is a man amongst boys.

I saw someone say they were giving away tickets. Anybody who can send me one! I`m on SSI and haven`t been able to attend a game since 91!!! I live in Jamestown. Some of u may know my uncle Coach Webb. I`d love 2 watch us play regardless of record/Wor L! Go Vols!!

Agreed. We will be sick all over again when we see how many of these guys thrive in the NFL.

If we still have Dooley and Sunseri next season, playing Oregon at Oregon, they would score 70 points minimum. Start the damn firing NOW!!!!!

I had planned on going to that game in Eugene but I won't do it if this staff is in place next year. I can't take that much torture.

I have an old Navy buddy that lives in Aloa Oregon. We have been planning that trip for years. I WILL NOT GO IF HE IS THE COACH.

From Berryrocksyourtop in another foum:

Lane Kiffin in 7 weeks, won the same amount of SEC games that Dooley has in 3 years.

Since 2010 Tennessee has lost more SEC games (17) than all of Tennessee's teams in the 90's did combined (15).

Please, someone who does not want to see Dooley gone, defend this.

I wonder if Missouri beats us if Hart can afford how much that time he is buying will cost him?

So it seems that after an initial flurry of contract and money talk things have quieted down. Seems to me this can be one of two things; Lack of interest/understanding and parting of ways, or agreement and not much left to discuss.

If talks with Gruden had fallen apart I suspect we would be hearing rumors of other coaches. You will recall in most other coaching searches (here and abroad) there are multiple running rumors about multiple coaches at any given time. This whole thing has been very unique in that talk has focused solely on Gruden.

Also consider that Gruden likely wants to finish the season at MNF.

That leaves two outcomes to this thing I believe.
1. Dooley will be kept or at the very least a decision has not yet been made to go in other directions.
2. This Gruden thing is close to actually happening.

The kick in the balls is that both of these scenarios will look exactly the same up through December. I think the worst thing that could happen is for Dooley to be terminated during the season which would suggest a full blown coaching search. Its going to be a long month.

I may be wrong but I have always looked at it this way. If an announcement is made that Dooley is fired, then we have our next coach locked in.
