'13 AL LB Zac Cunningham

My problem with that Highlight reel is I didnt see him defeat a single block.

Didnt see him take on a block with correct shoulder or rip off an offensive lineman's block.

I'd be more interested in seeing entire games and see what he does when he actually has to engage and use his hands.

That's what I watched immediately. They had a LB better than him by the name of Demarcus Waldrop back in 2002-2003. He went to Bama and was getting swallowed up in the SEC with this same problem.

He is very raw at the moment. He needs to get in a program that doesnt need him for immediate PT. upsides is there

Waldrop was 5'11 200 at LB. very undersized.

The kid has some potential. His is 2 years away from being ready to play. He must get into the weight program and work on maintaining his quickness while gaining muscle.

What's going to be funny is the reaction on here when this kid shoots up everyone's rankings then chooses someone other than us

just glancing at that highlight reel, it looked like very flimsy comp. entire OLines not even attempting to get a hat on the Mike LB.

Yeah jay...the competition doesn't look good at all...my last comment isnt to say we should/should not take him...I just get a good laugh in these kind of threads when the situation I described occurs

What worries me is that BB has said Pinson has always played garbage competition.

The WR on that team is legit. But a LB that runs around untouched over there sounds about right. They hardly ever have any success versus a good 6a team when they are matched up.

From an athletic standpoint, he seems fine. But like you said, he hardly ever had to beat anyone in that video. He disengaged from a block a couple times, but it looked like it didn't take much (probably a kid that shouldn't even be playing football).

Almost like the Zanca thread? Bell one amuses me also

Remember Chris Donald running wild in his highlight tape. And he was a much better athlete than this kid. Also this kid isn't blowing kids up like he should seeing the level of competition he's playing(Springville is just ridiculous).

I really feel if this kid was being coached up at Hoover he'd be a lot better prospect. Pinson coaches kids to have success at only the HS level. Having a LB that doesn't know how to disengage off blocks is BS. This kid is used to weak competition and being the bully on the playground. Now he would have to add weight and get off blocks. Sounds like Martaze Jackson(who was a better athlete) and his problem at UT.

Kid would be a good fit at Cincinatti, Duke, or some school similar to these mid to lower D1 programs. He built similar to NFL LB Brandon Johnson(Minor alum and a neighbor of mine growing up). He went to Louisville redshirted, then he put on weight, his style of play wouldn't have worked in the ACC. Big difference was he played DE in HS and he played 6a ball versus good competition. This kid for his best chance at PT and his chance at the NFL would be to go to a mid-tier D1 program.
