as I stated earlier. we already have multiple project types at Backer...

I dont care if the entire country offers him right now, we have too many same type guys that will need more than a few years to develop at the position

As I said... who knows what's the final plan for this young man whether it's LB or SS?

I agree on the multiple projects and I'm most certainly not a fan of having as many as we do but there's no doubt we have a need to get more physical & athletic on the back end.

At this point, whether right or wrong, I think they're just looking at getting more athletic.

The forty time posted is from Rivals. His profile hasn't been updated. I'm guessing that was from a freshman camp. I believe he's faster than 4.8. However, I just really question his size and ability to add weight. If he's struggled to maintain 200 pounds, how do we expect him to get up to about 230?

Definitely a big concern. My hope is he can run at least a 4.65 and get to 230+ or we don't need him.

My concern is he won't contribute year 1. Which is what we need in this class right now. Dooley and crew are going after project after project on defense and it shows on the field.

Projects on offense look like Drae Bowles

Projects on defense look like????? Hell pick one from anywhere. Lol

Maggitt was a little bit heavier in high school (195), but he hasn't had any problem getting up to 240

No offense to this kid but he doesn't look anything like Maggitt did in HS. I think the problem is that we're taking chances and not getting the sure thing. Like BB said above we need help now, not two years down the road.

I didn't realize we had so many talent evaluators on the message boards here. I believe the staff has alot more knowledge about what they are looking for in a prospect than a majority of us. Those looking for an "impressive" offer list and 4 or 5 stars are not going to always get it. Relax and see how this goes. Long way to NSD.

The problem is that we RARELY OR NEVER get it. He needs two LBs minimum that can come in and contribute immediately (i.e. Lawson and Levenberry caliber) and start pushing players on the two deep.

A lot of people don't realize that the HS program he plays at has one of these small all everything LBs every other year. None of them ever pan out. They have good baseball players.

I use to think that way until I saw how these last classes have panned out. Not too good so far.

Well honestly you don't have to be a damn talent scout to know that it's unlikely for a sub 200 pound senior in HS to expect to come in and contribute day one in a 3-4 at OLB.

that can be corrected via weight room and unlimited access to nutrionist and food

who knows what his home life is like.

Still, good luck to him

and I hope the undersized LB we land is Jermaine Grace

True. I agree on the nutritionist part. He's still a RS year away from contributing IMO. I'm with you on Grace. He's a much better prospect.

He should not get a commit unless 1 of the other "project LBs" is cut loose. It wouldn't be a problem that he ran a 4.8 if he was 245lb, but he isn't.

again. those 40 times on rivals sites are so incorrect I dont even know why people even look at them or why they are even posted.
