New Anti Dooley Painting on rock....

comparing a football team and HC to the presidential election is ridiculous.

This is about the current team, made up of 18-22 yr old and HS srs thinking about playing for UT. That you and others think trying to humiliate the HC trying to lead them or recruit them is ok and helps the players, team and program, you are as foolish as the other multitude of yahoos on this site.

It was a stretch I know but not as ridiculous as you think. The "kids" will be all right.

Maybe because he publicly humiliates the tennessee brand, the players he throws under the bus every week, and the fans.. i dont know, just a thought..

Gameday was here a few weeks back. Program and University didn't seem to be humiliated. Having a chance to win the game against SC on national tv wasn't really humiliating. Our players response to Lattimore wasn't humiliating.

As far as the under the bus bs, you can whine about that like a baby till your face is blue. Coaches comment on players making mistakes and they also comment on players stepping up. That's how it is. It's a man's sport. Which is why so many of you boys don't know how to handle it.

Dealing with messages on the Rock is an unspoken part of the job description. No matter what your opinion, it is and always will be part of UT football.

I can agree with this. And I really don't feel like we're that far away under Dooley. Yeah, it sucks we haven't been able to pull out any of the close games, but other than UK last year, we haven't had any bad losses, and we are competitive against basically everyone except Bama.

Maybe next year, we'd get over the hump with him.

That being said, I would absolutely forget about Dooley if we could get a "home run hire."

Agree, however, that still does not take away from the immense stupidity and immature nature of what is on the rock now, nor does it send a positive signal to those considering coming here as a recruit or HC. It is very creative and well prepared, but still dumb as a box of rocks. IMO

Maybe Hansel will come back and paint:

If Dooley was winning, no one would be complaining about the students painting complimentary things on the rock. It's just a reflection of how they feel about the team and its leadership.

Wow, blow things out of proportion much, folks?! It's a joke. I doubt the painter was trying to utilize "blue steel" to make a big statement. Let's all chuckle (or not) and get back to our Fridays.

talked down to? Seriously?

-TBray needs to not be loose with the ball
-JS has to set the edge
-you gotta make that tackle
-JH needs to catch those balls
-Tiny had a great game
-TB stepped up and played a great game
-CP needs to run routes better
-ZR has really stepped up....

Being talked down to? Come on. I think some people would rather just hear a coach blow smoke up their azz with bs rather than answer a question truthfully.

The rock never determines the direction of the program. It only reflects it.

Look I get it. I agree in principle that coaches talk about players who do not produce or make mistakes. I agree. But when the coach piles it on I turn off to that coach. That is the feeling I get from Dooley. His standard line is not coaching but the players made the mistakes. If the coaches would do their dang jobs the players wouldn't be put into those do or die situations at the end of the game where risks are taken (by the coaches) which result in the players making the risk on the field. Then Dooley comes out afterwards and doesn't give any indication he screwed it up, all on the players. This is what I have an issue with with him.

Having said all that, you're right. I'm a little too hard on him probably because I am done with the coach. He's in over his head and it shows.

We trail Vandy in recruiting now.....VANDY.....F'n VANDY....did you see that......M.F'n VANDY!!!!!

I don't think what is on the rock is what is going to sway recruits bro and it is a super uber weak reach to say so at this point....don't you think?

I have no problem with being done with him. I just don't think anything that publicly embarrasses the program, players, him or his family is good for anyone, except those that want a laugh at other's expense.

Do you by any chance keep up with the recruiting numbers? Do you know how many we can actually sign this year and how many Vandy can sign? How many Seniors will Vandy send off this year and how many will UT? How many Juniors from UT will declare? My point is, just because you jump on Rivals every once in a while and look at our "ranking" doesn't mean you know what you are talking about.

Just out of curiosity, how many total recruits does Vandy have? UT? What about how many 4* Vandy has? UT?

Last question... Exactly what day is signing day?

"Just win baby" - Al Davis

If you commit to winning, and go out and get wins all this goes away. The Rock art work, the rumors, everything.

He/staff have not done that, hence the continous heckling from fans/students/media. It is deserved and warranted taunting, in order to stop it, you need to win football games. The team has not quit on this coach, and many of the fans have not either.

You win out and probably save your job and the season. You don't and you will probably be looking for another job at seasons end.

Simple as that. (Good art work BTW).
