I'm sick of these under the radar type guys. I want the big names that are good and proven with big time offers.

There's no question Dooley has increased the talent on our roster but let's be real here....a lot of average coaches could've brought in the classes DD has with everything UT has to offer.

Dooley is in year 3 with the largest recruiting budget in the nation & at least top 5 facilities & we're fighting Samford, UAB, & Chattanooga for recruits.

I'm so ready for him to be gone so a real coach can come in & bring in the talent we need to compete for championships. There are no excuses to be worse than top 10 in recruiting every year at UT.

NM. Not worth it.

No Bama and Auburn haven't offered. And Auburn has his teammate committed. Yeah......

Actually visited UA for practice tonite and the staff has him coming in for the aTm game next week. Depending on his ability to put on weight he may get an offer.

In regards to Earnest Robinson hearing may be decommitting very soon.:hi:

Pinson, Ala.--An in-state football prospect who is having a monster senior season at linebacker, Zach Cunningham, is drawing interest from SEC programs, but so far no none of those colleges has made the first scholarship offer.

Cunningham’s head coach at Pinson Valley High School, Matt Glover, said that a lot of colleges are making a big mistake when it comes to recruiting the six-foot-four, 200-pounder, who is in his third season as a starter for the Indians.

“He is the best football player in the state of Alabama, there’s no question about it,” Glover stated. “I told Coach Thigpen (Auburn linebacker coach Tommy Thigpen), ‘Coach, y’all are missing the boat on this kid.’

“He is the best football player I have ever coached--period, bar none,” Glover added. “I will put him up against any linebacker in this state.”

Going into Pinson Valley’s Homecoming game last Friday night vs. Springville, Cunningham was averaging 14 tackles per contest. He made 21 more that evening, including six for lost yardage, and was the main reason the visitors couldn’t score. Springville had a difficult time making first downs with Cunningham disrupting plays behind the line of scrimmage, even when he didn’t make a tackle.

The senior plays the game with an aggressive, middle linebacker style and has the quickness to run down ball carriers from sideline to sideline with 4.6 speed and long strides.

“Auburn is looking at me, Alabama, Tennessee and those are just some of the colleges,” Cunningham said when asked which schools have been checking him out.

"I'm not an uber scout or anything but I've been covering recruiting for 12 years and I'm telling you guys, Zach Cuningham is going to be a very good college player. He reminds me a lot of former Auburn LB Karlos Dansby coming out of high school. Dansby was an All-American at Auburn and is still playing in the NFL.

I bet this kid has a lot more "big" offers before we get too far into January. And I bet Auburn, Alabama and any other SEC/ACC school that doesn't offer Cunningham will eventually regret it."

"For what it's worth I like this kid and I like this offer. Tremendous length. He looks like a basketball player in person and he'll develop physically and add a lot of good weight to his frame. Even though he's a wiry kid, he's very physical.

I understand that his offer list is underwhelming but this kid can play."

It'll be funny looking back at this thread if this kid blows up and gets some big offers.

You and I are on the same page. I prefer to try to withhold judgment and form an educated opinion based on quality film as often as possible.

The way I see it is it's an offer. No one has said it was a committable offer to date. If Bama or Auburn offers first, and he continues to blow up we have no shot. Looks like they may have been trying to get in the boat first. (That's my take anyway)

Sorta my thinking Don, if we were the only school he was hearing from and only big offer you would think he would jump all over the offer and commit. Now he hasnt committed yet which tells me he is either hearing noise from other schools also or hes holdin.g out hope of an offer from Bama/Auburn. More than likely its a combination of both...i for one think its useless to complain about an offer when the kid may never sign with the vols

yes no one is saying he can not blossom and be good but how many of the unranked to 2 star guys that we have signed under dooley's regime have turned out to be anything but another body/special teamer?

Greg Clark, Nash Nance, Crump, Sapp and Carson ...

Again, it's just an offer. Who knows what's the circumstances and stipulations behind the offer. Last I checked we had over 300 offers out there...

We need immediate help at LB. With our current commits and targets, I don't see anyone that jumps out at me. JMO

What's the difference between this kid and Princeton Harlan's (please no offensive jokes) body type? I seem to remember a lot of ppl being excited about his potential at SS. Who knows what the final plan is for this young man?.

There's no reason to automatically be negative. IF some other teams jump on the boat, some of you will become more quiet than church mouse.

At this point, I'll take it at face value as an offer and keep it moving.

I'm not hating. I like the kids potential but we've got more projects than Bob Villa.

as I stated earlier. we already have multiple project types at Backer...

I dont care if the entire country offers him right now, we have too many same type guys that will need more than a few years to develop at the position

Means we have more chances for one to work out, right?

Bama, Florida, LSU, and Georgia have projects that look a bit different than ours. I laugh thinking about us going after all these "sleepers". Bama coaches treat Cameron Toney as a project. Yeah that's the difference in programs and coaches right now.
