VOLS will never bring in a coach that can't recruit nationally. There are still players that want to come to UT no matter what. The state of TN is also producing better talent these days. No matter who the coach is UT will be able to use the HUGE athletic facility to recruit. If they can get a guy on campus the brand can still sell itself. This AD will make better decisions either way.

Recruiting classes:

2010 9th(Kiffin landed alot of this class)
2011 13th
2012 17th
2013 (So far 21st).


Notice a pattern here? Recruits are just not going to keep buying into the BS talk. Winning matters.

UT recruits itself alot more than people think. If you look at prospects you will see UT listed alot of times in their top 5-8. They have no offer. They have no other teams listed east of the Mississippi, but UT is on their mind. Tennessee is still a big time brand to alot of the country.

Top recruits are not going to commit to a school when the opposing coaches stick news clippings about the certain coaching change every time they visit. The hot seat makes for cold recruiting.

For me, it's very easy to pull for Dooley. The problem I'm having is believing in him that he can get the job done.

We have to win to get 5star recruits , I still can't get over how well vandy is doing with recruiting! NCs and SEC titles help out with recruiting, but vandy has none of these, what's the deal??

Franklin... He's sells the program. It's in a major metropolitan city, kids like that. Nashville just keeps getting bigger. He's not a bad coach either.

There are so many things you can say about Dooley, and people still go out of their way to make stuff up or just ignore facts and outright lie.

Baggit and Chaney built those relation ships and signed Hunter / Rogers and Others!
We Trail Mississippi State and Vandy .
He is not the great Recruiter every one here makes him out to be. He will sign a Average player from Alabama over the same Player from Tennessee. Wilcox and many that have left had a huge hand in Dooley's last Class. Kiffen Built His first Class. You will see with This class what Dooley is about. 11th in the Sec is not improving!

the classes he has recruited have been solid classes.i'm not giving k credit for anything,dooley finished that class and got some players that weren't coming here because of k.

Ok, it still shows our classes are getting worse the longer Dooley is here. I wonder why we have not had a kid jump on board of late? Hmmm, maybe they are just waiting for Dooley to get that signature win. Oh wait....

if those are the best 8 players tennessee has from the last 2 recruiting classes (not counting juco's), that's not getting it done.

Depends on the player himself, flakey players flip and often don't work out. UT has had some people flip to other big name schools on NSD. Too many to name. Most of the players that Lame K lost out on are doing extremely well in the NFL and around the SEC. Orgeron is a dirty ba$TArd. The NCAA being around every corner ran some good players off too

Might take us from 21 to 17. The 13 2-3 stars will tend to hold the class down. Of course there is no sure thing in us getting Lawson. He has alot of offers and alot of options. It does speak to recruiting though(at AU) when your 1-7 and have 10 4-5 stars on board.
