Doubt it. But they can "agree" to a deal and have it all ready to sign on the dotted line.

But there has to be a formal coaching search, a formal job posting, and interviewing of minority coaching candidates first. Which in the end is all window dressing, but none of that can happen before they fire Dooley.

I remember when South Carolina hired Spurrier, they did not conduct a search, nor interview minority candidates at all.

The AD was asked by the media at the press conference, and he told them flat out, something to the effect of, we didn't need to do a search because we knew we had our man. No one challenged him either.

Just sayin ...

But we didn't and that is the point. The ball bounced our way in the UGA game and the USCe game and we still lost them. MSU we had two weeks to prepare and lost to an inferior team. Bama simply destroyed us and the team acted like they didn't even want to be there. UF beat us by 17 because the team basically quit after the two big plays. We have lost to these four teams every year and when, (if ever) will Dooley beat them? If we can't out-scheme them with coaching and can't out-talent them we need to get a coach that can do one or the other. The more I think of this season the more disgusted I get. The "true fans" wring their hands at how great the competition and make excuses for our failure of a HC. These teams beat each other, why can't we beat any of them with this coach at the helm?

Who is "OS" and why are we interested in what he says?
What has he said?

I am soooooo ready for JG to be our coach.
I understand nothing will be announced for another 6 weeks or so if anything is announced, but the back and forth and highs and lows are killing me!

OCI, DTO, LWS, somebody, talk us off the ledge.

That may be true. Employment law in South Carolina may be different than in Tennessee. That requirement may not exist in all places. I remember Auburn had to interview a minority coach before they hired Chizik. And Charles Barkley criticized them for not choosing the minority coach.

The point IMO is that UT should be one of those teams in the top 5 teams in the SEC and top 10 in the nation.

We should be beating (at least occasionally) South Carolina and Georgia and Florida.

OS is orange slice He was skeptic early on with the Gruden hire. But now from his on sources he has switched his position and feels a Gruden hire is very possible

I think Dooleys out no matter the outcome of these last four games. But hypothetically speaking, if there were any hesitation on firing him, any loss to these teams would be the catalyst for Dooley receiving his walking papers.

We're favored to win all four remaining games.

And if the present trend continues, UT is on it's way to being a "Homecoming Patsy" in college football. Believe it or not.

Just had about a 30 minute conversation with the dude that snapped the pic of Gruden on the flight, and he is adamant even in a business setting that he was indeed watching the game and taking notes. Talk about right place right time.

You're absolutely right. One of the biggest talking points for keeping Dooley so far is that they've played 5 teams in the top 8 of the BCS. If Tennessee had won those games, or at least the three that we had a chance to win in the 4th Quarter, the tune would be quite different, and the Vols would be one of those teams in the top 8 of the BCS.

When its time, its time.

Why not just smoke in the concourse. I have always gotten away with, and there are usually quite a few doing it. I've only been kicked out once, and it wasn't for smoking. :biggrin:

Or the state of UT's fans. Last I checked, we have a 9 game out of conference win streak, with most of those games pretty lopsided.

Not sure why that trend won't continue Saturday.

I have zero doubt that we will win and win big.
