Here is the problem Dooley starting the VFL and saying players are welcomed back at any time but then making it more difficult for them to do so....just one more pr blunder

I can see where former players are coming from, would probably upset me too. But if I was a coach and a high profile former player was coming, I would probably want a heads up to prepare.

This is why it makes no sense to even bring it up and make an issue about it.

Im trying to figure out what he would be preparing for exactly.
If they are not gonna be turned away why do you need to call?

if all that's required is a simple phone call then it's not difficult

They play in front of screaming fans every game, cowbells, loud music, coach's screaming. Just dont see that as a distraction.

It's an ORGANIZED practiced.. So yes.. If the president of the USA wanted to stop in and watch practice, he should call ahead too.

I'd bet Manning has always called ahead anyways.. Even before the rule was put in place.

he doesn't know them. If a guy like Al Wilson wants to come back wouldn't you want to introduce him to the team? Take a little time and make sure you have your facts straight about him?

there are lots of problems with Dooley but I just don't see this as that big of one

Someone... I'm listening to the Treece show, he just said something about a photo or something being photoshopped. What was he talking about? I was on the phone and caught half of it. Thanks!

But hell the call ahead issue is like arguing with Captain Smith about procedure while the Titanic is going down. Bigger problems right now!
