if Peyton Manning, Eric Berry, Al Wilson, etc show up they could be a distraction without saying a word. I'm not saying it has anything to do with their actions. At that point the coach has to stop and address or simply hope it goes away

for example, in HS Allan Houston showed up at one of our bball practices. He never said anything but I can assure you he was a distraction

People like Steve Kiner, Hacksaw Reyinds and others showed up at our practices and never caused a problem.

You guys realize this is old news and they are allowed at practice, right? The whole call first fiasco, had nothing to do with them not being allowed.

If the players can't handle ex-players being on the sideline without being distracted, then they damn sure aren't gonna handle 100,000 people in the stands on Saturday.

Don't buy it. More harm than good. Not a smart move. Dooley's complaint is they didn't call first.

even if they cause a distraction to the team during their limited practice time?

sorry but I have to agree with Dooley on his call ahead procedure

Do what? You dont treat former players who helped build UT like that. They will not be a distraction, most school's and Coach's allow it. With the way they are playing it couldnt get any worse.

I fully understand your point but you want to create an atmosphere where guys like you mention are there so often that it doesnt create a distraction. You want those kind of guys there all the time!

YES, it is something that happened however AND I didn't say they weren't allowed but didn't follow "procedure"

It will be a long time before another Dooley coached team has to worry about 100k in the stands.

I hate living in Georgia, have to listen to them talking about Georgia beating Florida two years in a row now. I have nothing to brag about down here. The winning streak we had against them is long gone now. I can't do another year of Dooley, I really can't. Please everyone with any pull do what you can to get him an Cheek out of there. Do it for my health.

We're in the same boat buddy, living in Ga. I hate not winning...

The Governer does not hire or fire University Presidents..Yes the board of regents do it..however; who do you think pulls their strings?

Picking up what you're laying down...:good!:
I was thinking with it being an appointed position,
the Governor was involved in the process...good info...

Like TB said those players are the one who built this brand and bleed on the field. Not Dooley. They want to show up for practice and watch. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Didn't someone say there were some who were acting as coaches? Is that a NCAA violation?

How come players are at practices then? The few I heard about not being allowed were causing a scene.

Because they called first. Dooley is the only coach that has put this as a requirement for attending practice. In the past a former player could come and be welcomed with open arms.
