Completely agree with you man. I agree with his stance on war, just not on cutting the military budget.

The two basically go hand in hand. All government spending at its current level is obnoxious. I would recommend reading Rollback by Thomas Woods. The only way you're getting to a balanced budget is by cutting the military budget.

Military spending has as much of a negative effect on economic growth as reckless domestic social programs.

I think the #2 and #3 candidates that everyone seems to be talking about came straight from Basilio. One of his first posts and on his show he was in love with Al Golden (#2 candidate) and the job he did at Temple. And his #3 candidate was Tubberville. I don't know where all this Pete Carroll mess came from.

Just dont see a current big time "home run" hire HC leaving for a lateral move to UT so IMO its either gonna be someone not in coaching right now(Gruden) or a NFL coordinator(Romans) or a hot coach from a lesser school (Strong).

Question: What are we the consistent things we're hearing are from Hubbs and Basilio?

That there has been contact between UT and Gruden but nothing has been worked out at this time. Basilio says Dooley is fired no matter the outcome of the season. I have not seen where Hubbs has said this though.

I haven't seen anything to indicate Carroll wants out of the NFL. I don't doubt it as he certainly proved himself on this level. It would be interesting to see what kind of staff he'd put together considering much of his previous group is with Lane Kiffin right now.

He may not have indicated, but I know college coaches enjoy far more control over the institution and their teams than their NFL counterparts

Stoops coming to UT makes no real sense from his perspective. If it's possible for him to consider that move then he must be extremely angry.

My last post on the matter since this is not the politics forum, but you are confused and thus countradicting. This should help, direct quote from Paul

This is absurd. Using a quote of this magnitude is pointless, in that, he is a politician that is obviously not going to talk about cutting the military to his conservative base. That would be suicide. But since you would like to use quotes here is one:

“Believe me. They’re cutting — they’re nibbling away at baseline budgeting, and its automatic increases. There’s nothing cut against the military. And the people on the Hill are nearly hysterical because they’re not going — the budget isn’t going up as rapidly as they want it to. It’s a road to disaster. We had better wake up.”

As you can tell, I can pull out quotes to illustrate points about Paul the same as you. The above quote was proven false by not just FNC, but CNN and MSNBC.

Alas, lets agree to disagree and get back to Gruden. Deal?

Golden and Tubberville were only his opinion. He said yesterday that the 2 and 3 on the actual list were big fish he would not disclose.

I have been told by a pretty big booster that according to his info, JH CK, and CP are very high on the short list. That being said, I haven't seen the actual list, so it is second hand info at best. Hint, JH, CK and CP are all west of the Mississippi river lol.

I don't think Chris Petersen is ever going anywhere. Jim Harbaugh is going to be busy with the Super Bowl, and Calvin Klein has never coached a day in his life.

IMO only. Golden did a good job at Temple. When I think of hiring a new HC, I think of recruiting against Saban, Spurrier, Miles, and Richt. Not for sure Golden could hang with the big boys.

This keeps me safe and America as the superpower of the world. One of the main things that progresses society and technology is military expenditures. World War II is a great example of that.

Fair enough

I think it is obvious he has hit a wall. Change of scenery would do him good, and I have heard from several people that his relationship with the powers that be isn't what it once was.

If I had as many degrees as you, I wouldn't assume anything. I'd just know it. :hi:

I guess I should have a working knowledge of literally everything. Yep, that's totally logical. Let me know if you need some tutoring for the ACT.

No more up and coming coaches who aren't battle tested.

Heard Ralph Lauren may be in the market. That loss to Hilfiger have the fans and the AD in an uproar.
