I guess my main point is, you bring a guy in here like Gruden, why would you be upset with how it's done? I can't see anybody saying "I don't like how we threw so much money at a coach who's been to the pinnacle of the sport."

I just don't want to hear the "he won't respect tradition because he's an NFL guy" talk. The guy respects the game of football, and even if he were to end up at another college job, I think he would honor every tradition.

I think off all the possibilities out there, legit HC's, he'd be the last to screw with UT tradition.

You are so right and he would be someone that could tell the players about our storied history here at UT. He was GA under one of our Legends.

I know all of the insiders keep saying the list of potential coaches is impressive and the next two names after Gruden would be home run hires as well, but can anyone give us a hint at who the others are?

I have heard Pete Carroll, Mike Gundy, and Bobby Petrino all mentioned and shot down as potential candidates. I am just trying to piece together what other two guys would also be considered home run hires.

I wouldn't doubt that Carroll is on there, I have no clue who #3 is tho.

From what I can tell, no one has given those names. It's all relative as to if they are home run hires or not. Some might think Gundy would be a home run hire, but I wouldn't.

Don't remember which insider it was, but didn't one of them give us a hint last night? The hint was two names west of the Mississippi, one being a college HC and the other an OC in the NFL..I have an idea of the two names but can't be anywhere near 100% sure of course.
