From the little I've read, the Corona deal existed with MNF and this year they negotiated to get Gruden, but previously the Corona label was on the MNF bus. that one seems not a big deal, probably just ends if he's no longer w/ MNF. Don't know anything about Hooters though.

Gruden has always been my favorite coach,college or pro, and have wanted him here since 2008..I cheered for TB in the SB b/c he was their coach and I thought he deserved to win a Lombardi Trophy...He is everything that a coach should be and then some.

With all this talk about endorsement deals and the huge contracts, do you think any of the old time fans won't like Gruden coming on board? We all know how some are sticklers for tradition...

Edit: I'm not one of those people. Gruden was a GA here and was under Majors and I'm sure he understands tradition, but with the unprecedented amount of money we are about to spend, I just feel like some won't like how we go about getting him here.

I see your point and it will probably happen. I have seen a lot of coach changes, Dickey, Battle, Majors, Fulmer, Kiffin, and Dooley, and have yet to see it done without any opposition. You gonna make somebody mad regardless....:)

I'm sure there will be a few that won't approve of Gruden for whatever reason, but they will be in the minority..But once he starts winning, they will learn to like him b/c everyone likes a winner.

I'm 46, am I old time? Gruden's FFCA partnered w/ Hooters and sale of merchandise goes to highschool athletes. No problem with that, love it.

I don't think it is a "title" only, even if the HC calls the plays.

It is not uncommon for coordinators to to not call plays. There is an enormous amount of work that coordinators do (meetings for the units, scouting, gameplanning, personnel, practices, etc, etc).

Once the gameplan is installed, the playcalling is mostly done. I would venture to say that the HC and OC/DC are constantly communicating on the playcalling and making adjustments, and the HC almost always is deferred to.
