Surprised Dooley isn't Blaming Bush.....

Yep and he is responsible for the outcome. He has been involved with the defense more and more, as it points out in the article. But leave the actual coaching to the defensive coaches.

He is responsible, doesn't mean he should be back their coaching safeties. I like how you assume since I think this article is ridiculous that I support Dooley.

"On Monday, he clarified his role by saying he provides “big picture” guidance and has gotten more involved with the defense each week."

O.K. So where or when did he or has he said that it is ultimately all on him since he is the head coach? He keeps letting Sunseri take the heat in the media. That was my point of the thread after reading the article.

I saw that, but it is either is too vague or wrong direction. Either way it is not working and it is up to him to find someone who can fix it if he can not.

"After the 38-35 loss at South Carolina last Saturday, Dooley raised some eyebrows when he said he had not spent any extra time with first-year defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri or the players despite such obvious problems on that side of the ball.

“I spend all my focus on offense and special teams,” he said."

False. He said he wasn't very involved in MAKING CALLS for the defense during the games. He never said that he wasn't involved at all with defense. Funny how twisting a quote changes things...

Climer has always hated Tennessee and he's a hack of the 1st order.

On the normally biased Climer article...I don't see CDD blaming anyone for anything but here on VN the CDD haters will spin anything to fit their hate filled agenda.

VFL...GBO!!!

The only jerks on here are the idiots that believe suddenly Dooley is going to figure it out and actually out coach a team that matters....he is ZERO for a career between UT and La. Tech against ranked teams....yet jerks like you will defend this guy to the end...at the expense of putting this program further and further out of SEC title relevance.

But hey...maybe someday Dooley will get us past 7 wins which will include a victory over one of the top SEC teams....and by Dooley standards that includes Kentucky. How proud you Dooley idiots must be of the Head Coach that ended the win streak against Kentucky with a WR at QB.

Get a napkin chump because you just got served.

I can hear it now if Tn beats Troy, Mizzou,Ky,Vandy. Dooley has Tn going in the right direction and has finally turned this thing around. The Doolites will be unstoppable. At the same time Tn is fighting these teams for last place instead of 1st place.Like it or not Dooley will NOT be back after this year.
Some of the Doollites must of missed Dooleys post game Ala interview where he threw Bray and Hunter under the bus. He has did this dating back to last year.It still blows my mind how you people still supports a loser and put him 1st before you put the program 1st.

Well he was never a coordinator on either side of the ball. Its not like he has some vast knowledge or skill to contribute.

I just blame him for the 3-5 (0-5 SEC) record currently. I still believe if he wins the remaining games, get's this team to a bowl, wins the bowl has at least a top 5-15 recruiting class he'll be retained.

No chance of this happening. We are 9 or 10 in the SEC in recruiting. We should win the game but with Dooley who knows.

Then you ought to blame Dooley.

"After the 38-35 loss at South Carolina last Saturday, Dooley raised some eyebrows when he said he had not spent any extra time with first-year defensive coordinator Sal Sunseri or the players despite such obvious problems on that side of the ball."

That quote tells me everything I need to know.

These days if you're honest it's considered blaming someone else.

If you want an offensive coach to coach defense ask the Eagles and see how that turned out for them.

This thread is a joke.

Underrated post, IMO

Which still puts us way behind in the SEC in making any ground of being relevant. Big time recruits want to go where they are going to win or have the best chance of it....Florida, Bama, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, Miss. St...Dooley is putting in 3 years of having to be the ultimate salesman because he doesn't have a good record to stand on.

Honesty is very subjective these days. Not all threads you dislike are a joke. FORUM---

I'm struggling with my gag reflexes as I type that I agree with that statement. I didn't think I could live long enough to agree with you on anything.

Dooley is putting in 3 years and has needed to be the ultimate salesman to fill a cupboard that was left totally barren by the defections before and after the Kiffin debacle. He has had to fight against a team filled with thugs and wannabe types. Yet, he has managed to put a decent roster together that is filled with lower class talent. If he is retained, things will continue to improve. If he is replaced, a new coach will not be faced with the same challeges he has overcome.

I'll say it again--That is a TWISTED quote. He never said he doesn't work with them. He said he isn't majorly involved in defensive play calling during the game. Go back and watch the presser:
