Hey old vol, thought I read on here that you played here in the mid 70's correct? If so I am curious if you new of any of the basketball players that won the sec championship back in the 70's.

I certainly don't think it was "decided" a week ago, but that the in-law knows Gruden wants to come, plans on coming and now all the pieces just have to fall into place now.

I think the reason no announcement has been made is because the AD is trying to avoid a disastrous end to the season by releasing the coach with 4 games left (see wyoming loss), they need time to negotiate the Dooley buyout, they need time to collect funds for said buyout and to pay Gruden.

I don't expect anything to happen until after the UK game pending a major meltdown.

It was the...you know. Donkey Kong on the Texas Instruments was awesome too. Then again, I remember playing on the Commodore Vic 20.....

If we make it to a bowl and NAME an interim, waiting till Gruden is done with MNF isn't and shouldn't be an issue.

Original Atari, Commodore 64, yep had em all. Even the first Sega. Donkey Kong on Atari and super Mario on Nintendo was probably my all time favorites.

Single biggest plus for Gruden and it honestly outweighs what any other coach could bring to the table is name and face recognition and the impact that will translate to recruiting. That he hasn't coached in some time makes it even better because there is nothing to really associate recently as a negative. Bottom line as long as the guy can bring in assistants to pound the pavement for him and let him simply close the deal the talent advantage alone he would bring should offset whatever scheme weakness he might or might not have. Honestly if he cannot close a top 5 class (nationally) at UT and top 3 by year 2 he's doing something horribly wrong.

The one thing I wish we would discuss in here is who people think the DC will be. That to me is his biggest job on day one.
