As worried as I am about the impact of hearing absolutely nothing from the athletic department I have to assume its because they are searching or working on some sort of deal with someone right? I would think that the administration would stand up to back their guy if they had ANY intent to keep Dooley. If we go the rest of the year and hear nothing from Hart, either way, it will be worse than coming out right now with a change or support of the current staff. To leave everyone hanging with nothing but speculation will crush recruiting no matter what is decided.

I love my Vols but silence at this point isn't the best move. The athletic department needs to stand up publicly and support the staff so recruits know who they are committing to IF they aren't working on a change.

That reason alone leads me to believe something is in the works. No idea what but PLEASE be BIG!

Any other info other than what you've stated that makes you feel this way, or are you not at liberty to say? :)

There is a reason for the silence in both camps but the current silence is for a reason and that reason has zero to do with the outcome.

Good Morning.

Good morning kids.

Looks like we have some new converts. Welcome.

Kh, I only saw when reading back through that you are wanting to come to Ireland. I have been here since 2001 and will probally stay considering my wife and kids are from here. You should try and go, great place.

Its hard to tell in my avi but the is the pride of the southland band marching in the paddy's day parade in Dublin.

I second this .. The wife and I have been to Ireland several times (she works for a CRO based in Dublin)... That's Gods country over there

Saban won a National Championship in year 2 with Alabama.

Sabans offensive "system" is simple and brutal. It is mainly depends on being bigger, faster and stronger. Grudens offense (at least the one he always tried to force feed at Tampa) is a complicated, hybrid west coast offense (Old San Fran O). It requires a extrememly good pass blocking O line (check). A really smart, mobile QB (not a running QB) that makes quick smart decisions(uncheck). Really good mid-sized, pass-catching RBs that can block (iffy). And really good TEs (iffy). Neither Bray or Worley fit the Gruden QB MO. Peterman on the other hand could just about be the perfect QB for Gruden. That offense is lethal if you have the right players.

Absolutely DTO, and I am certainly all for Gruden doing the same thing here. Like you just mentioned, the SEC is murderer's row, and the conference is at the pinnacle of CFB power right now. Gruden will make a huge impact from day one but I'm not so sure he will have us at championship potential quite so quickly. I hope we have the opportunity to see him prove me wrong.:)

I'm not so sure of that. One thing I will give DD credit for is that he laid a foundation on which a top shelf coach can be successful. We have talented players all over the field on both sides, but not at all positions. I think a great coach like Gruden can makes us a factor in the East rather quickly.

On the national scene, I could see us being a factor in 2-4 years. But, it doesn't have to be National Championship or bust, although I would like to win those as much as anybody else. It is more about being in the discussion, having 10+ win seasosn and going to BCS bowls regularly.

It is almost like we had to have a DD to bridge the gap after Fulmer and restock the roster. DD did inherit a mess, and he has accomplished that much. But, I don't know if he will ever be able to win a lot of games as a coach, and I am ready for Gruden.

On the other hand that offense can also be a total CF with the wrong players. Some of Grudens best work ever as a play caller, was in the playoffs during the Bucs SB run. He adapted to less than optimal (for his offense) personnel brilliantly. After that year however he went all downhill, becoming more and more stubborn. It was perplexing and infuriating to watch....hence my ambiguity regarding a Gruden hiring.
