* pause *
OK, so is there perhaps an acknowledgement that it
does take time to turn things around? That magic is not involved with the rebuilding of a football program?
Don't everyone start screaming at me and calling me a Dooleyite or whatever. I'm terribly disappointed at how things are going, especially this year, and I think that a hot-shot coach would have been able to both motivate the players and figure how to call time-outs.
* another pause to reflect on how and why hot-shot coaches weren't available three years ago *
But Kiffin said it would take time, Dooley said it would take time, everyone with a lick of sense said it would take time, and now Grudenites are saying it will take time. --not that I'm putting Grudenites and "everyone with a lick of sense" in different and exclusive categories. This is just a rhetorical technique.
I'm one of those hoping for a graceful and gracious handover of the coaching reins, and an acknowledgement by 95+% of the fanbase that CDD did stabilize the program in terms of the Knoxville Police Department frequent-flier program, along with improving the overall talent through recruiting, so that whoever does succeed him will have something to work with.
And then we can kick Bama's ass 3 or 4 years from now.
