He threw 13 assistants on a list...You can only have 9...trying to play the odds and basing it off previous staffs...Wow thats hard.

Here's the list I posted on 10/26 with first names.

HC - Jon Gruden
OC/QB - Jeremy Bates or John Shoop
RB - Jay Graham
WR - Tee Martin
ST/TE - Rich Bisaccia or Ron Middleton
OL - If John Shoop then Sam Pittman, if Jeremy Bates then Pat Morris
DC - Raheem Morris or Casey Bradley
DL - Jethro Franklin or Keith Millard
LB - Joe Barry or Casey Bradley or Derrick Brooks
DB - Raheem Morris or Greg Burns

Even now, people still believe 100% that Gruden is coming to UT. Comedy at its finest. Even the 100% belief that Dooley is fired already is ridiculous. If Dooley loses another game, I see no way for him to survive. If Gruden says 'yes' then Dooley is done (however that is big long shot). But if Gruden says 'no' and UT wins out it is NOWHERE NEAR 100% that Dooley is gone.

After that commercial from reality, everyone can now return to the regular fantasyland programming.

I respect you, but you are wrong about this.

Hmmm. Derrick Brooks would be VERY interesting

Gruden is going to assemble an incredible staff with recruiting ties across the country...having the money to pay for the staff was a key factor in the negotiations.

That's gonna be an incredible staff no matter how you slice it..Wonder how much $ will he be allowed in order to assemble it? As much as possible?

Wait a minute bearboy.... your justification was repeatedly posted that CJG's winning % in the NFL was not that great. My first reply provided some details and things to consider as to why we would be excited to have this hire (answering your question).

If you are a vol fan as you claim, that should be enough to help you understand or at least get a response to the info that I posted showing what he accomplished.

Instead, now his "SUCCESS in the NFL will not translate to college football"?

That's some weak **** right there ..... Stop cluttering up this thread with your bama babbling. A lot of folks are trying to keep up with on-topic info and posts.

I have just been asking would you Gruden lovers accept his career if that's what he does at Tennessee.

He started with two .500 records. If he replaces Dooley how many years you going to give him?

If he has two .500 seasons at Tennessee you going to keep him?

His NFL coaching record is good, but not great.

In 11 seasons he has 3 losing years, 2 .500 years,

He has 1 Super Bowl Championship
4 other playoff teams. 2 of which lost in the first round.

My point is if you take out the 1 Super Bowl year, he has a so so record as a head coach.

So what basis do you have such confidence that this guy is a "homerun" hire. I don't see it. Spurrier and Saban were in my opinion.

I keep on posting these after your comments, with no response. Is this your opinion? Because you are stating it as fact.

If it is anything more than your opinion, please let us know. People on here have spoken of their irritation at your posting style, but I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.

oci...just a question. Most people say things are being workout out contract and money wise. How are you so sure that this is gonna be the coaching staff when it seems like things havent gotten that far yet. You seem pretty confident in this.

I'm speaking of my irritation that you are posting this after each of his comments. Since this is a rumors forum, we infer opinion and rumor. To force everyone to state that it is an opinion is duplicative and clogs the board.

If you want to stalk him, please get his email address.

Thank you.

If you take out all the years he went to the playoffs, he never made the playoffs a single time.

Say NO to Gruden!

no kidding, Jesus

My best assessment of this situation. I do believe that with all honesty that Gruden is the next head football coach for the University of Tenn. Just as many have said everything is a process and we have to deal with it whether it be after Troy or the end of the season. DD is gone to much proof there. We just need to trust the boosters and Hart to make an executive decision wise enough for the University and I know they will. Also we have an AD that does not put up with losing and has a big enough set to pull in a major hire. WE will be relevant again. This is TENNESSEE FOOTBALL! If you pay him Gruden will come.

I like this "taking out" stuff. Ok, it you take out all his losses, he's undefeated. Wish I could 'take out' a few jobs my business has lost money on.
