I'm just wondering why so many of you Dooley haters think Gruden is such a surefire guaranteed success. His record doesn't give me that kind of confidence.

We have to take into account that CJG's record was negatively impacted by a lot of losses during his last years at TB. This was not his doing by any means. The owners are what "ran the Bucs into the ground". That and the price in draft picks that TB paid Oakland for CJG. 2 first round picks and 2 second round picks.

Take away your high draft picks and then have your owners mortgage everything including the Buc's future to buy Manchester United and you have the reason things went downhill and his winning % dropped. Heck they let Sapp, Lynch, S. Rice, McFarland and others go instead of renewing their contracts.

The last few years, CJG was trying to compete in the NFL with Kris Simms, and a 7th round rookie pick from Toledo Grukowski (sp?) as the starting qb.

Take a look at what he did with the Raiders and journeyman QB Rich Gannon before arriving at TB.

When Gruden came to Tampa Bay, he quickly rebuilt Dungy's pathetic offensive using only castaways and journeymen players (RB Mike Pittman, WR McCardell, Wr Joe Jurevicius, TE Ken Dilger) . He won the stinking super bowl with "BRAD JOHNSON" as the QB..... in his first year as TB's coach.

Mike Alstott was the only pro-bowl talent on the offense. Heck CJG's coaching put Brad Johnson in the pro-bowl that year.... brief pause to let that soak in.... yep journeyman Brad Johnson in the stinking pro-bowl.

His ability to build TWO NFL teams in short order and coach/win the super bowl in his first year at TB... against the Raiders (a team he had just built still running his offense) is what everyone should be excited about.

If we are too strong then we lose the need for God altogether...even a warrior has a general and turns to him when times are confusing.

I'm not the best at all this "talk"...living it is what we are actually supposed to be doing. While I take absolute strength and courage in my role, I also know that I am nothing without the comfort and support of God, and the peace that surpasses all understanding in bad times.

For me the purpose of the church is to receive manna from heaven, join in fellowship licks of fire together as in the day of Pentecost, and to realize our place, and that is as a SERVANT of God, following his WILL, not trying to infer his will or take charge of our roles without his consult.

The tension came from the initial comment about knowing nothing about church. Do not suppose such things sir, especially when trying to be a representative of Christ. This is what turns people off...

I do not expect us or anyone to see eye to eye about religion and individual assessments, that's the beauty of free will and spiritual revelation, to each his own my friend.

And I apologize if I misinterpreted your intent. Truly. It is true that the interwebz doesn't convey intent well.

Obviously, we are all under the headship of Christ. He is the head of the church. :)

Obviously He is a comfort. His Spirit is the access to a peace that surpasses all understanding.

That is not the purpose of the church, as Christ defined it.

My point was that any theology that looks at the role of the christian as a scared kid in bed, or the role of the church as a pat on the hand and a reminder that Jesus will come back one day... Well, that is problematic for the church.

Thanks! In checking the map I cracked up when I saw all of the roads connecting to theirs were Thornton. Will, Ice and Joe are all in the vicinity. Just reminded me of the Thunderstruck vid that everyone keeps posting. Carry on! :)

Under favorites, it shows "Knoxville Realty" which links to Coldwell Bankers Facebook page. It's on the likes page, just have to click see other pages in the favorites section.

Again 100-85 career record, 1 super bowl, Take away the Super Bowl year and he is 85-81.

If your going to make that argument at least do it correctly. If you take away his best year then simple math says you have to discard his worst year too. Then his record is 81-69
