No, I never coached in the pros.

College you recruit Pros your GM buys the team
College you teach Pros you ask your felons to play
College different team every year Pros maybe
College you mentor Pros you hope players play
College dealing with kids Pros you're dealing with Felons

Pros the coach only has so much say in what players you get.
Pros you are less likely to have the same team for 4 years than in college.
Pros you face the best of the best week in and week out.
Pros have a policy restricting any coach from wearing houndstooth cuz it's tacky.

no!!!!!!!!!lol

Never said that Gruden was a "guarantee" to succeed. Things can go wrong but the percentages are with his success in the NFL, his connections to hire top assistants, his charisma and fame to recruit top talent. Combine all that with him rallying this fan base bodes well. No one can say 100 percent he will be great here but all you can do is take the information at hand and feel pretty good about it. As for the Dooley part of the question...he has NEVER proved he could win anywhere. No La. Tech and not here.

Great to see the Bama nation starting to sweat a little. Sounds like others are starting to worry!

Had a bama fan the other day tell me he thought Dooley was a good coach, and I told him I though Shula was a good coach too! He dropped it,

What are you guys smoking? Gruden ain't comin here. He is making maybe $4-5M on MNF just talking NFL football which is his expertise. It would take $7-8M to get him to even consider coming to UT or any college football job. It would take another $2-3M for his asst. coaches and another $9M to buy out the current staff. The change could easily mean $15-20M when all is said and done. I could be off a couple of million, but I just don't believe the program will cough up that kind of money.

If you guys want another "up and coming" mid major coach, just keep yelling for Dooley's head.
