Official Jon Gruden Thread IV

Hey, I know. By the way I've been a Tennessee fan all my life. I have blood relatives with their names on the Wall of Fame which is on the UT campus. 4 of them to be exact. My daughter graduated from UT in May 2010.

From West Tennessee.

I'm just wondering why so many of you Dooley haters think Gruden is such a surefire guaranteed success. His record doesn't give me that kind of confidence.

Can I get my question answered?

Spoken like someone who knows little about church.

What do you presume to know about my knowledge of church?? Grew up in church. If you think for one minute that believers dont get scared (especially in current times) and dont go to church to get comforted, then you may need a little more knowledge...

When believers are called sons and daughters of God, they are in fact his children, and what do children do in times of doubt? Turn to their Father or Mother for comfort....this was my comparison.

Man who pissed in your cereal?

Except for the fact that he compared the church to scared children in bed and totally misrepresented its purpose.

See above...and the poster this was directed at and I already agreed that church is a multifacted thing and has many purposes...why do you go to church if not to be comforted or uplifted? To keep up with the Jones'??

Yes. You did. But also true is the fact that there are no worries.

Youre right, Im still not worried.

:hi:

Again I'll say, see something you don't like? You don't have to read it.

Not a stupid post. But your reply is hollow and stupid.

Yes his overall record is 15 over .500. But his SuperBowl season is 11 of the 15 over .500.

His record doesn't give me this great fuzzy feeling that he is a sure fire winner. Especially the fact his record is in the National Felon League and not College. It takes a whole lot more ability as a coach in college than the pros.

Tee hee... tee hee hee... Ha ha! HA HA HA!!!!

Slap knee...

Hoo! Hee haw!

That post is so filled with broken logic and untruth, it is a knee slapper.

Slice and dice stats to remove those that hurt your argument...

State an untruth as truth: i.e. that it takes better coaching to win in the NCAA, where your facilities, recruiting, talent level, ratio of inferior teams to schedule has more bearing on winning percentages... As opposed to the NFL where you have to coach and scheme against teams that don't recruit, but have to draft. And as a matter of fact, the bad teams get to draft higher to keep NFL parity more equal...

In the NCAA, Bama plays Tulane. In the NFL, every team plays the cream of the NCAA crop.

You're good. Well, not really. You're wrong. But you're funny.

I for one appreciate very much that you and the others have tried and successfully kept us informed.. You've been direct, to the point and honest IMO and I respect that. I have to say I've had a tremendous amount of fun during all this.. You guys have taken a lot of sh!t and stood your ground.. Cudos to you and the others brother..

Keep up the good work...

Very kind....thanks.

Yeah, after he has the nerve to call someone else hollow and stupid

How does the old adage go? Something like "better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it"?

This dude just proved why statements like that even exist.

Next he will be saying that college players are more skilled than pro players, or else why could Bama get so many drafted into the pros? Answer: because Bama has better players than the pros.

Geezus.

How would you know? You never coached in the NFL

No, I never coached in the pros.

College you recruit Pros your GM buys the team
College you teach Pros you ask your felons to play
College different team every year Pros maybe
College you mentor Pros you hope players play
College dealing with kids Pros you're dealing with Felons

Again I'll say, see something you don't like? You don't have to read it.

How would one know whether they like something or not before reading it?

I'm fine with not agreeing with things I read. Are you not OK with people disagreeing with things you say on a public forum?

Did you know you didn't like it before reading it? If so, I take it you read it anyway?

(I was just pointing out that you were wrong. I can't figure why you would post something that insulted an entire group of people, unless you were seeking a response. But anyway, no worries.)

So, Lex, can we probe this a little further? Do you know or believe that the following rumors are true:

1. Somebody claimed to see Gruden at the Knoxville airport last week. Would he have been coming or going?

2. Gruden has been looking at houses in the Knoxville area.

3. Anything else?

Some folks, whose reliability I am not familiar with, take it a step further than looking for a house.

Wow...are you seriously this retarded or do you just act like this on message boards?

you do realize that the NFL has a lower rate of felons than the US congress

also all those felons come from college and typically the worst offenders in college dont go to NFL so an argument can be made that there are more felons in college than the NFL

take it easy on the NFL man

Ok so if they purchased a home. Then what difference was the arguement folks have used for years in that Gruden already had property here? Unless that land is undeveloped.

How was it an insult??? Your interpretation of it was the insult. Or did you take my advice and not read my clarification?

So does the Bible insult that group when it compares them to Children of God? Did Jesus insult believers when he said that he would rather we be like little children in faith....

Obviously you're not fine with reading things you don't agree or you wouldn't be here at all talking about Gruden, FB, or church.

Get off the soapbox dude, you're repping well, I REALLY want to go to your church now...

Congrats on being my first ignore.
