This quote explains a lot if people will only try to understand

Gruden probably won’t address the rumors tonight during the telecast, out of respect for Derek Dooley

Or how about "Gruden probably won't address the rumors tonight during the telecast, because that's not the proper place to do it."

Somebody asked about a coaching list. Pete Carroll is the first name after Gruden.

Those 2 things right there I why this thing scares me and better be handled right or we are ****** for years to come.

So you have heard that the list has Pete Carroll's name on it?

If so (and I am not questioning you at all), I find that to be absolutely insane.

Gruden I can believe, and this is rhetorical, but what possible reason would Carroll have to come here, and why in gods name would our AD want to hire a guy who got USC in trouble and then walked away before the crap hit the fan? USC got off easy because they are USC. The NCAA would not be so kind to UT.

He is a good coach though.

Or he likes to have his name out there for the attention it brings to him and espn. This isn't his first rodeo.

Who is watching tonight that wouldn't be if this wasn't going on??!

Now please...pretty please, with sugar on top...clean the effing car.

Wtf? You have to have an opinion.

This makes sense, but does not explain why UT hasn't come out with a statement. Maybe because they're still hopeful, which I guess is a good thing. Or maybe he's as good as ours, and we just have to wait. We shall see.

I'm not trolling and your reaction was the same as mine. Supposedly he wants a college job. I think it's ridiculous, which is why I laughed when I heard and why any search with ridiculous names on it scares me, unless as I said, Gruden does the unthinkable and goes down the rung on the career totem pole to take over the Vols.

I'm not explaining myself to posters on Volnation. Sorry. I got more degrees than you have teeth, so spare the insults. But maybe that's the benefit of VN right? No one can know who you really are. Hence, insiders have zero accountability. When did our insiders call Lane Kiffin? Ahh they didn't. When did they call Derek Dooley? Ahh they didn't. When did they call Sal Sunseri? .....you get the point.

This same scenario goes on and on not just with coaches but with players as well: Autry, Jacobs, Santos, Peters, whatever. I joined the board to tlk with fellow Vol fans, only to get wrapped up in nonsense.

Wow, you have a lot of degrees bro. You're awesome. And totally not a big dickhead.

With the power they have and the money they make, college isn't really a step back anymore for these coaches. Plus they don't have to worry about overbearing owners.
